Question Migration Question

Hello vBSEO,

I'm a vB forun owner since 2005 and have zoints-seo installed since it first came out by DChapman. I've been searching thru the forum but only thing I came acrosss was a .htaccess file that's not working properly. I also have vBSEO Sitemap generator and it submits webpages still in old format "showthread.php?t=xxx".

And I currently have 150.000 pages indexed under google (check).
To be honest, zoints is not really a solution it seems because starting from the time I installed google adwords (year 2005) I'm about to reach 100$ now.

My aim is to buy vBSEO with that money but I need to know that how will this migration be possible ?

Is here a way to migrate without damaging old links and remove them from google cache by the time ? I mean old Zoints links will still point to newly-rewritten version of vBSEO links and after some time (3-5 months) I will disable them and only valid links will be the vBSEO ones.

Thanks.

Everything will work fine. Just do it.

I used Zoints SEO on two forums and switched both over to vBSEO. With impressive and excellent results, BTW.

You will need to remove Zoints SEO and the .htaccess from your site and then install vBSEO in its place. Open a support ticket, explain that you've been using Zoints SEO and the vBSEO team will help you with the correct code for your new .htaccess file. It really is just that simple.

You'll be amazed at how quickly your new URL's will be indexed with vBSEO. You're going to learn how little Zoints was actually doing for you. I drug my feet for months, making the decision to purchase vBSEO. I think it took all of 12 days for me to decide to purchase the second license. I've a third forum that just putters along and I think I'm going to buy a third license and start getting more serious about growing that forum, as well.

As stated above, all that is required is that we give you special instructions for formatting the old Zoints format to your newly optimized vBSEO URLs.
