Is it possible with vbSEO to get urls such as www.forum.com/membername or www.forum.com/members/membername like how they have it in myspace. If yes, is a shared hosting plan with cpanel to modify site settings enough?

Yes. I use a similar format on CBRXX.com - Honda CBR 1100XX Super Blackbird Community (I have .html on the end, but it could just as easily be left off)
Thanks Cohen. On the vBulletin site there is an option to select file extension (.php. .php3, .php4, .html, .htm) for server when downloading the vBulletin package. Wouldn't that do they same thing? Technically im not so sound and may be that option is for a totally different purpose.
Also, could we have www.forum.com/membername instead of www.forum.com/membername.html ?
Im starting to like vbseo!![]()
No, that's not the same thing. That only changes the extension of vBulletin's files. Your url would still be in this format:
www.yoursite.com/member.html?u=14782
Sorry cohen, i edited my post and put this question too:
Also, could we have www.forum.com/membername instead of www.forum.com/membername.html ?
Thanks again so much for your help.
Yes, as I said, you could just as easily leave the .html off of the member profile URL format.
Ok. I've understood that. Now my doubt is why did you keep the .html extension when you had the option of leaving it off. Does keeping .html extension enhance crawlability? or does it have some other advantages?
Sorry for a lot of questions. Im just too excited.![]()
its just his preference to leave the .html
