Lighttpd or nginx

I'm running a board with more than 300k request per day, apache is just using a lot of CPU and we already try to improve the performance for long time without dramatically results.

We want to know that it is the most faster and stable option to migrate our board...

Lighttpd or nginx?

I would choose nginx over lighttpd because of following reasons :

• nginx allows you to run php-fpm patch instead of fastcgi
• Lighttpd has a memory leak problem and requires constant restart to lighttpd service
• nginx performs better compared to lighttpd on benchmark tests i performed
• nginx is currently more actively developed compared to lighttpd

I personally use nginx - xcache - memcached on my server and the performance i have compared to apache is great
