Latest Version of VBSEO work with VB 3.8?

Hi,

I have VBSEO SiteMaps and Zoints SEO enabled and wanted to upgrade to VBSEO after having the funds to do so. Wanted to see how hard the install would be, if I had to remove these 2 add-ons, and if it would work for vb 3.8

Would like to order it today if possible......thanks!

In order to install vBSEO and receive best performance , you should uninstall Zoints SEO prior to vBSEO installation. vBSEO Sitemap Generator is fully compatible within vBSEO , in fact it has many additional benefits when it is used with vBSEO. vBSEO installation takes around 5-10 minutes max. It is as simple as installing any vBulletin modification from vB.org. Many of the published addoins on vBulletin.org are compatible with vBSEO

For VBSEO XML Site Generator; it currently has issues with indexing most of my pages, I assume its due to the zoints seo plugin and that when I added this new VBSEO plugin, it will fix the issue? Just want to make sure since have my pages indexed is very important. Thanks

Yes, the vbseo sitemap is not compatible with zoints. it is designed for basic (showthread) urls or vbseo'ed urls.

Do I have to do as many in template edits as I had to with Zoints? Just figured since I have to go into a bunch of templates and remove code that I added for zoints.

There are 0 template edits for vbseo.

ok perfect, buying it tonight and installing it. Is there any additions for adding alt tags to uploaded and linked for images? I believe this website does something with it but I can't figure it out allfordmustangs dot com

alt tags on images are not a current feature.

Is that the way it should look with the category? Not use to it from my other seo format, I think it looks better this way too.

SEO V3 Sitemaps picked up another 1000 pages after the update. It's at 101,000+ now but not sure how to get them all indexed since my webmasters account still says I have 700 and something indexed?

For example all my forum sections lost their specific category pages that I could link to and now all I see is (((http://www.njstangers.org/forum/#photos-videos which doesn't do anything other than redirect to the main forum page.....how can I change that?

That's a vBSEO feature called "Direct Category Links". You may disable it here:


vBSEO CP -> Other Enhancements -> Direct Category Links.

Now my major issue is that my forum pages went missing in their forum sections?

I was trying to remove the forum id from the urls and it didn't work so well so I revered to the default vbseo forum url rewrite for now.

Although it is recommended to use [forum_id] variable for better performance on your site (it saves a query to your database), you can omit it from being added to your URLs, however [thread_id] variable is always required.
