Question I've read the rules, but.....

...can I allow swearing on my board with vBseo?

The reason why I would want swearing on my site would be because of the fact that it is 'edgy' to new members, making the board seem 'cool' in general.

If this can't be done, then enabling branding fee removes this notion?

Thanks in advance. I'm pondering on buying vBseo very, and I mean, very soon.

vBSEO does not matter what kind of content is on your website as long as it is not illegal and/or porn based.

However I do not see how allowing swearing on your board makes it 'cool'.

Awesome. I wasn't entirely sure on what content you don't want on a vBseo-powered website because the word "violent" is kinda a broad word. But thanks for clearing things up for me!

That settles it. I'll have the money ready for the purchase, and you'll enjoy having my money.

    Really?

It depends on the target demographic. Mike, of course, provided a great example of a demographic that would not be as impressed by profanity.

We don't have a problem with it Carlos if you want to allow it on your forum. The only thing that I would caution is that it *could* have some SEO impact to have content that includes a lot of colorful language. You could trip a filter and have pages ranked lower in the SERPs than they would if they were otherwise free of profanity.

    ARGH!

Is it that much of a problem? I guess I'll make a new rule of not allowing too much swearing. I know topic titles must NOT include swearing, I know THAT much.

    *sigh* So much for SEO.

You know about Google's safe search right? Any content that contains profanity may get left out.

You could setup some replacement that takes common curse words, and gets rid of some of the letters such as:

d**n to represent damn (as a mild example).

Then the words would still effectively be communicated, but would not be picked up by the search engines as actual words.
