    If I install vBSEO?

    .....

    1) Does it hurt my overall SEO if my forums are www.mydomain.com/forums instead of www.mydomain.com?


    2) If I install vBSEO but dont have a dynamic site map will that hurt overall SEO? What about not even having a site map at all?

    Hi Matt,

    If your forums are your site, it's encouraged to keep the install at root, rather than /forums, so as to keep folder depth to a minimum. That said, I don't think it hurts SEO overall.

    Are you referring to a Site Map for visitors, or one for spiders? It's a good idea to have such a structure somewhere, that links to the main areas of your site.

    Our vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator is for submitting to Google/Yahoo, to tell the Search Engines what to spider, and how often.

    Its a blog site that happens to have a forurm. So the blog is in root, then forums in subdirectory
