It's entirely in google's hands. It varies anywhere from 2 minuets to 2 months.

2 months is certainly on the long side of things.
It all depends on how much of an 'authority' google thinks your site is.
if you're cnn.com, you're updated very fast.
if you're joessite.com, you're the last on the list. :(
most people are in the middle. 2-3 weeks at first.

It took about 2 weeks for Google to start the indexing on my site.
