How does this work?

I just bought vb from vbulletin.com and have started installing mods. I want to be placed on search engines.. but I can't justify paying $150 for something that I don't know much about. Could you elaborate on what your product does?

vBSEO is an enhanced SEO solution with many exciting features, all of which can be installed in about 5 minutes for the average user. I'll try to do a quick summary of our features:

- CRUs - stands for Content Relevant URLs (i.e. URLs with keywords instead of the showthread.php version, etc). These make your forum more relevant since keywords are placed in the URL. They elimate session ID & query string information in the URLs which SEs like Google do not like. They completely leave your forum in a 1-URL-per-resource state, which basically means the SEs can find only URL to get to each page, with no duplicate content. You get the idea. Complete flexibility and compatibility with any of the old mod rewrite hacks you might have tried.

- Archive - Your archive can be replaced with a sitemap version that sends all traffic to your new thread pages with CRUs. This eliminates massive duplicate content for your forum, and helps with usability for users since they should be more like to stay longer and your forum and possibly signup if the page they find in the search engines is more attractive (verus a bland archive page).

- pings/trackbacks - vBSEO makes vBulletin the only forum that is blog compatible. Link to a blog entry or enter a trackback URL, & vBSEO will automatically pingback/trackback the blog. This is a great way to get relevant inbound links from blogs that have related content. This is our most powerful external link building feature.

- Our CRRs (Custom Rewrite Rules) allow you to convert other vBulletin plugins you have installed to static URLs as well. Even something brand new that you created yourself can be rewritten using our CRUs.

- Our RRs (Relevant Replacements) extract highly relevant text from each page, and apply it in strategic locations on the page to enhance the keyword relevancy of each page for the search engines. As with all of our features, this is also highly configurable.

- We dynamically create all META tags so that they contain only the most relevant information for each page.

- We provide many rel=nofollow features which help you to conserve your Google PageRank by instructing Googlebot not to pass any page rank to sites linked on your page, or to other forum pages that have noise (garbage) content that you do not want indexed (newreply.php, etc).

- Adding titles to external links mean that whenever any posts a URL to an external site, it will be given anchor text that is the title of the page they link to. This automatically adds highly relevant anchor text to those links. Having relevant outbound links is also important to SEO. However, having that anchor text placed on your page also impacts the keyword relevancy for your pages. Most users will never provide anchor text for external links. With this feature, the thousands of links that get posted are automatically converted.

- Make your page content even more relevant by removing stopwords or undesirable words from your CRUs that you do not want to rank for. Therefore, the remaining keywords in the URL are made more important (higher density without the stopwords).

- Acronym expansion allows you to specify replacements to be applied automatically whenever a user enters text in a way that is searched for more often in its expanded form. Users like to type fast and take shortcuts. This allows you to expand those shortcuts into version the search engines will like more. For instance, we expand the following:

'vBulletin' => 'vBulletin'

- We consolidate your homepage PageRank. With vBulletin there are often multiple paths to your homepage such as / or /index.php or /index.php?. Each can be linked which means the PageRank gets spread among the different versions. To maximize your PageRank, we ensure there is only 1 way to get to your homepage.

- We cleanup your HTML code and boost your content-to-code ratio. Basically, this means you'll end up with a higher percentage of text that the search engine wants to see & less of the code and stuff that they do not need to see. With 1000s of forum pages crawled monthly by the search engines, this can also conserve bandwidth and help to get you crawled even faster.

- AdSense targeting helps to make the Google AdSense ads you run more relevant, which should lead your clickthrough rate and boost your revenue.

What is the ioncube and zen version? I've never heard of this lol

That's just the two programs that are used to encode the files.

Give the ionCube version a try. It will work for the majority of systems.

I notice that you currently have some image and link issues on your site. You should get those resolved, and have your forum up and running correctly before attempting to install vBSEO;
