Brian i don't understand why are you lonely? I know hug with computer too, and don't spend a lot of time with my husband because of that. But you are young and attractive, so what's the problem ?
Thanks for sharing your story, i am now thinking about buying it...

i've actually picked up a g/f about a month ago. I've been spending less time online and less working.

and its hurt me in the pocket 2-fold.
my traffic is way down.
and now i have to pay for dates. lol

Code:
Past Year Total Unique
This Month 510,887 97,713

Apr ’07 846,303 146,228
Mar ’07 763,090 116,814
Feb ’07 665,306 111,988
Jan ’07 745,025 125,883
sure, this month isn't over, but i'm pretty certain its going to be a lower figure.

my $100/days from adsense are gone.
it's more like 50-70 now.

But, i'm way happier. I found someone who actually cares about me and likes spending time with my pale white indoor tan'ed body

Brian,
What kind of server are you using for HondaSwap?
Any recommendation for a good host?

I have Pentium 2.8G with 1GB RAM for my forum and even though the forum isn't nearly as active as yours, I'm still getting "too many connection mySQL" errors.

With the kind of traffic on your hondaswap, can you get away with just one dedicated server or do you need to separate forum server from mysql server?

I have one server which runs hondaswap about about 30 other sites... mostly tiny things, 2000 hits a day tops combined.

it's a dual proc, dual core opteron 270 2.0 Ghz (4 cpus) with 2gb of ram, 2 10k 76gb sata drives in raid 0, 1gb uplink network connection

hardly anything special.

my server loads are around .4-.6 most the time.

current data:

Code:
cpsrvdup named (9.2.4)up Server Load0.36 (4 cpus) Memory Used38.8 % Swap Used1.62 % Disk /dev/sda5 (/) 2 % Disk /dev/sda7 (/home) 43 % Disk /dev/sda8 (/tmp) 4 % Disk /dev/sda1 (/boot) 13 % Disk /dev/sda2 (/var) 68 % Disk /dev/sda3 (/usr) 37 % Disk /dev/sdb1 (/backup) 31 %

also, something you might want to tweak:

The number of connections allowed is controlled by the max_connections system variable. Its default value is 100. If you need to support more connections, you should restart mysqld with a larger value for this variable.

Thanks for the info.

For me, the server is constantly overloaded....

I have managed service at Hostgator but can't say I'm 100% happy with how they are helping me through these issues.

BTW, where do you host and how much for something like that?

Thanks guys. It's a bit more than what I'm paying @ $174, but one or two down time will pay for the difference of a more reliable server. I'll definitely look into this.

If I'm not a server expert, how much support would they give to get you up and running?
