Help Needed from current vbSEO owners...

Hey Everyone,
I found out about vbSEO from a friend of mine, and when I thought of building a forum, I wanted to include it in my project. I wanted to ask 2 questions from those experienced with using the product.

1. For someone just starting a community, is it worth it to have vbseo installed from the very start, or should you wait till you build some traffic?

2. For those that didnt do the install/design themselves, how much is a fair price to have both vbulletin installed and special skin designed, as well as vbseo installed?

Thanks ahead of time!

Hi Chris,

I can only answer #1: From the very start. Having the URLs indexed as they will be when vBSEO is installed is better to be done from the beginning.

#2: I installed all my software and designed my styles myself.

thanks for the info. I think you are right. I just did a search on five popular items, ranging from iphones to bluetooth to hdtvs to basketball, and every forum that was listed in the top four had vbseo installed without fail.

Hi there. Since you have a friend, he can probably get it set up for you except a skin. but if thats not an option. It's still not hard to install vBulletin and vBSEO. What you wnat to consider is to buy a skin or get a free template then modify it. Usually a template costs from $25-60(about $35-45). I have 2 forums and I bought a skin but for the other I modified a free template quite a bit.

Thanks for the reply. My friend is handling getting the board set up and the layout custom. So far he has two quotes for installation of vbulletin, vbseo, and vbadvanced, along with a few mods, and a custom skin installed. the quotes ranged from 300-450.

Both Jelsoft and Brian (vBAdvanced creator) offer paid installation services.

I'd advise checking these out.. plus, you can open a support ticket once you have purchased vBSEO, requesting an install service.

to answer your first questions. Yes, I would suggest installing vbseo from the start if you can afford it. This is what I did and we hit the 1st spot on a few keywords in 10 days of buying the URL.

as for 2.

a custom skin can be anywhere from 150-300$ for a full out custom skin. A quality premade skin that can be altered a little so make it unique will run 15-45$

To install vBulletin, vbseo, vba and the skin + a few hacks would run about 120$ from me.
If you are curious, here is a page I've made to explain my services
vBulletin Setup Services

The team here has some install services as well.

Hope that helps you out.

way to much...

You do not need to be programmer just to setup this stuff...

Set your DB/User for VB and VBSEO
VB is pretty much self-install...
VBSEO is super easy to install.
VBSEO SiteMap is even easier
MODS are fairly easy to install -just read install docs.

Personally, Vbadvanced or other cms is a joke, to me its
complex and a distraction from your forum.

Im getting ready to buy a skin for about $30 and I have
a person that will customize the skin for about $100 -
he does very good graphics.

If you still feel that you can not install all this, I will do
it for $100 - it will pay for my skin...just pm me.
