Forum title language

WE are interested to buy vbSEO if it will work with this hack alowing to have multiple titles for forums depending on language
Forum Title Language - vBulletin.org Forum

This modification is very important for us and unfortunately some users report that it won't work with vbSEO.

There is a tip from one of users and I think I would be able to bring the above mentioned mod work in some way with vbSEO, but I would like to know the opinion of vbSEO developers.

I can't say for sure, but I would imagine that so long as you use an ID-based re-write, it should work.

ie, instead of
site.com/forum-name/
you would use
site.com/f123/

and instead of
site.com/forum-name/thread-name-id/
you would use
site.com/f234/t456/

since there's no translation on text with the numbers, i don't see why this wouldn't work.... but again, i haven't used the mod so i can't say for certain.

Numbers in URL is what I don't want to have - for that one can write some rewriter scripts in .htaccess himself.

The main goal of buying vbSEO will be the UTF translation of URLs like in wikipedia sites - this increases the probability to be found in search engines. Noone googles the numbers, but words.

Main problem is that vbseo will possibly read the main table in English from SQL database, but we are using abovemenioned mod to have forum names in different languages, in fact different SQL tables are generated.

The question is when vbSEO reads the forum name and translates it - AFTER mentiond mod will generate the name in given language or before - is it configurable, say as hook location?.

IF vbSEO will generate as many rewriten URLS as languages we have, but showing the same forum, it would be also ok.

For a moment I would be interested to know, where from vbSEO reads the name of forum say forumid=24? And how difficult it to hack the code to read the names of forums from where I need.

You'd be suprised Having keywords in the url is far less important than having link consensus.

I run 3 sites with ID-based re-writes and all are ranked extremely well.

In the end, having
site.com/chicken/
and
site.com/poulet/
pointing to the same chicken forum is not a good idea, as you basically just duplicated your content.... something that vbseo (and SEO in general) is all about fixing.

Pardon my french

Your example is not representative, as of you claim, that your id-based re-written forum ranked well, which is not same to say I have had running forum with keyword URLs which was less effective as the same forum running now with id-based URLs.

Sorry but it is comparing pear to apple.

My french is as well not good.

Question in other way

Let me post the question in another way.

Where from, which table vbSEO reads keywords for generating the URL for forums?

And a new question, is it possible to use ID-based URLs for forums but keywords generated URLs for threads at same time?

As you can see vBSEO uses only forumid for forums and for threads vBSEO use threadid and threadname.
