    Question Final (I hope) questions

    Hi

    I am getting close to ordering / implimenting vbseo and have some final questions.

    1) Where can I read about vBSEO Conditional Signatures 1.4.2 and what it does?

    2) Do vBSEO Sitemap generator v1.7 and vBSEO Conditional Signatures 1.4.2 cost extra?

    3) I plan to install vbseo onto an existing / running domain and then migrate it into a new domain a f ew months down the line (I am going to merge 3 sites, including 1 forum to one domain / site for branding purposes). Any issues with you (especially costs)?

    4) What is the cost to remove all links to you from the forum pages? Can this be done subsequently?

    5) Vbseo sits on top of my license / software for vbulletin right?

    6) Do you or does anyone know of any integrations (common user registration) with Wordpress blog software?

    Hi Andrew,

    1) vBSEO Conditional Signatures

    2) Not at all. They are free modifications released to the vBulletin Community. The Sitemap Generator has additional Statistics features for vBSEO Owners.

    3) When/if you choose to change the domain you have your licence attached to, all you need to do is submit a Support Ticket and we will do the rest. This is currently a free service.

    4) You can choose any of these copyright notices:
    Code:
     // ****** COPYRIGHT NOTICE ******
     // As per the License Agreement (vBSEO - Search Engine Friendly URLs for vBulletin and More), you may NOT remove (or modify) the
     // copyright notice. Select one of the copyright notices to be displayed in ALL pages enhanced by vBSEO:
     //
     // Linked
     // 1. Search Engine Friendly URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0
     // 2. Content Relevant URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0
     // 3. Search Engine Optimization by vBSEO 3.0.0
     // 4. SEO by vBSEO 3.0.0
     // 9. Ping/Trackback Enabled by vBSEO 3.0.0
     //
     // Not Linked
     // 5. Search Engine Friendly URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0 © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
     // 6. Content Relevant URLs by vBSEO 3.0.0  © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
     // 7. Search Engine Optimization by vBSEO 3.0.0  © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
     // 8. SEO by vBSEO 3.0.0  © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
     // 10. Ping/Trackback Enabled by vBSEO 3.0.0  © 2006, Crawlability, Inc.
     //
     //
     // When this option is set to '0', the system auto-selects a copyright notice for you. Setting this
     // option to a value from '1' to '10' will display the copyright notice of your preference.
     define('VBSEO_COPYRIGHT',           0);
    5) If you mean, are the two licences distinct from each other, yes. You require a licenced vBulletin installation to run vBSEO, and a vBSEO licence to run it as well.

    6) There are a few on vBulletin.org .. try this one: VBulletin-Wordpress Bridge for 3.64 - vBulletin.org Forum

    Hi Ace

    Ok, thanks, but you have some paid option to have the link to you removed off the forums right?

    OK, do you offer an installation service and if so for how much and would that include the vbulletin install? I understand I have to buy vbulletin fiurst but am wondering if I need to pay them and you to instal?

    Thanks for the rest of the info, I did not see the wordpress info before, very useful.

    Regards / RSVP
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

    We do not have a branding removal option available at this time.

    We will assist you wtih your vBSEO installation if you run into any difficulties. We do not install vBulletin.

    Our download zip is less than 2MB.

    Oh, I see, that is vBulletin's branding removal. One of the big issues I have with branding is that when security vulnerabilities are found, defacers generally get our their exploits faster than software writers get out their security patches. It is so simple for a defacer to watch metasploit and then search for "vBSEO 3.0.0" or whatever (to find vulnerable forums).

    Hi Andrew,

    The link above is not for the vBulletin branding removal option. It is just for removing "Powered by vBulletin" from the title part of your forum (not from the footer).

    Yes

    I see that now, but am not so happy about the potential security risk. I would much rather be able to mod this area with something like "To visit the forum software provider click here" - then have that via an internal page or redirect so as not to give you link op (sorry) and to have my affiliate code in it (so I get a commission).

    Currently you can only choose from the copyright messages shown above in Ace's reply. However, you can hide the version number.
