Talking Few questions (now i have the coin :D )

Hey all just a few questions here

First of will i lose all my urls in google if i buy and install vbseo because i have this mod installed

Also i was reading the Extensibility part in the Features tab
Custom Rewrite Rules (CRR) it says "Easily rewrite URLs in 3rd party apps or non-vbulletin content" the "non-vbulletin content" does that mean it will work with this
    Here and Here
Also will i get help setting up all the setting i know nothing about SEO and would be scared i would set it all up wrong (i dont mean installing it)

Thanks and sorry for some dumb questions
    Vodka

    Hello,

    You basically have 2 options:
    1) set up vbseo to mimic the url formats you have now so the old urls from that program match using vbseo
    2) setup vbseo as you wish, and create some custom redirects to 301 all your old urls to the new vbseo urls.

If you chose #2, we can liekly assit you with getting your threads and other pages redirected properly.

Your 2 links appear to have an SEO solution of some sort on them already. You are likely better off using the native solution.

CRR's are best served for basic functionailty... ie, myscript.php?do=this can be made nice into myscript/this/ or some other variation that you wish.

We have a paid installation service if you are not comfortable installing on your own. We will help you if you dont, but you must attempt to do it by yourself first and ask for help if you run into problems. The directions are included in the download package. As long as you follow step by step, you will be ok.

Getting titles can be done, but a CRR is not enough. A CRR can only take what is available as a url parameter.

    ie,

    page.php?id=1
    can be
    page/1/

    and

    page.php?id=1&title=some+title
    can be
    page/1-some-title/

It is, however, possible to custom code yourself an add-on to do a db lookup to get the title from id, but this is not native, nor supported.

Thanks again for the reply when you say "page/1-some-title/" this can be done with vbseo? as the title is all the tags on the page

if the title is in the url as a parameter, it can be used in the url with a CRR.
if not, you will need to custom code a lookup intermediate page.

You should disable the write module that you are using and viw the RAW url (script.php?param=value) to figure out what is available to use.

As Ceri states, we do not offer a custom coding service like this.
