Question a few questions

Hello,

honestly to tell you the truth, I haven't really been a fan of your script, mainly in case to the "zend" or " hidden code" But I'm willing to give this a second chance.

So, in light of this I've been contacted by a client and they are willing to invest in your product or one similar, but we/I have a few questions.

I've done some searching and it seems each thread I wanted to reply to is closed.

So I'll ask in my own thread.

About the copyright removal, I seen staff say there may be this option in the future.. has there been anymore talk of this ? when it may happen, what it may cost ? and if it Will happen..
I add this last part because last I read there was going to be a free "lite" version available also after the beta was fixed up? but I've never head of this, and the final version has been out for a while now ?

2nd. the 150, is this for one year ? and do I assume after one year, it's another 150 ?
and if so, are you going to offer any discount, or any type of plan like vB does ? a lower price to lease, the the same price to lease again ? or an owned price then a lesser price after that year is up ?

3rd, will this work seamlessly with vbportal ? I read at vbportal.com that you where working, or had a addition to vbseo that would seo the vbportal links. Is this correct ?

and 4th, as my understanding, when a user purchases vbseo they submit to you the URL the script will run on,,
do the seo-URLs only work if vbseo is up ? so if you for some reason decided you've had enough and packed up and left town, are my seo links on google still going to be correct ?

thank you for your time.

Re: a few questions

@:

Thank-you for your interest:

A. Copyright Removal - Date of release & cost have not been determined at this time. However, we do include a configuration option that allows you to select which copyright version you prefer to display (including unlinked versions).

B. vBSEO Lite - We have been 100% focused on upgrading vBSEO Full for our current customers. Lite should be released in early 2006. Crawlability will be expanding our team to ensure that we can better meet our release targets.

C. vBSEO Full is $149 for an owned license. Access to upgrades, after 1 year, are provided at $35 per year. We have no plans to provide a leasing option at this time.

D. vBSEO works with vBPortal. Check-out our Custom Rewrite Rules forum for information on how to tighten the integration even further.

E. Submission of a forum URL simply removes an unregistered mark from the forum. Any www.vbseo.com downtime does not affect your forum at all. FYI We are upgrading our system so that customers will be automatically provided with a licensing key.

A. I seen the different copyright options, this will work for me and my client. we have a specialized forums, so the copyright isn't do much of a deal for us, but was something I wanted to ask while I asked the other questions/

B. We may wait and try the lite version b4 we buy, one question regarding this.. will the links produced be the same ? Example, if google has a link www.mysite.com/forum/topic/thread.html will the full make this same link ? in other words will the links be the same for google ?
I do understand the the full version will have more options then the lite.

C. This is fine for us

D. I believe I looked over that thread, but u assure me that it will integrate with the vbportal, good enough for me..

E. about this I still have question..

If my site and google have this link www.mysite.com/forums/thread/topic.html
u assure me that if your db goes down, my site will still produce this link ?

and one more questions, currently I have site www.site-x.com and we are going to be merging it into www.site-y.com and taking the site-y.com URL as the main..

Should we/I wait until after the merger ? or would it be smart to go ahead and start the seo indexing on site-x even thou within a month or 2 the sites name will be site-y.com ?

thx for your time, and we'll talk more soon

Re: a few questions

B. The Lite version will support static URLs, but they will not be CRUs (Content Relevant URLs), i.e. no keywords. Also, with Lite you are restricted to 1 default static URL format. All other vBSEO features like CRRs (Custom Rewrite Rules) and Relevant Replacements, etc. will not be provided in the Lite version.

E. If we took the vBSEO website offline, your forums would still function at 100% and would in no way be affected. vBSEO will still work for you.

Regarding: Site-X/Site-Y

I believe that since this would represent two very large changes (site-x/site-y move & then vBSEO-enabling) that it would be best done in one step. I'll consult the vBSEO team to see what they suggest for this instance & get back to you.

Site-X/Site-Y Transition

Based on discussion with the team, we came to the following general consensus.

Site will be moved to new domain after a few months:

In this case, vBSEO will have enough time to get a large quantity of your old dynamic URLs re-indexed as static CRUs. Therefore, it might be suggested that you install vBSEO now. Site-X currently has a history so you can build on this now with vBSEO. Then once you make the move you can do a custom 301 redirect to move everything to the new domain.

Site will be moved to new domain soon:

In this case, it might be suggested to apply vBSEO after the move. If vBSEO's indexing was not completed for the majority of your forum URLs, it could confuse things further and make the site-x to site-y 301-ing process more confusing.

Re: a few questions

okay, thank you.
I believe you've answered all my question, and so far i am happy with the answers
I think we'll be waiting until after the site gets the new URL, after testing the lite version.
