Arrow On the fence about purchasing vbseo

i currently am about to open a vbulletin baord and want to get good site optimization. My forum is a sports forum. My boards URL is Postgame Pub - NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL Sports Forum: Main. Right now im using zeroforum but have my vbulletin board setup at Postgame Pub Sports forum.

If I purchase this software will it start bringing me in more users via search engines I dont want to put the vbulletin board live until i research this spftware. for thsoe of you that have used it, how has it worked for you? How long did it take to start working?

In general, it will improve your forum's ability to (1) get crawled, (2) indexed, and (3) ranked more prominently for thousands of keywords.

I'll let other customers answer your question regarding their experience.

First off - I'd allow your domain and site logo to promote your title "Postgame Pub...". I would get rid of it from your homepage title though. Something like "Sports Scores: NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL" would exclude keyword that are not going to generate you much traffic. It's unlikely that anyone will search for "Postgame Pub" unless they are specifically looking for your site. Just put those works in your footer as a copyright and they'll be sure to find you.

so for the title, drop the postgame pub, and add maybe NBA, MLB,NFL and NHL sports forum? Also, should i drop Postgame Pub from the meta description. Im leaning towards purchasing this within the next few days. thanx for all you input

Yes - I would optimize for your forum name unless it has significant keywords. When they see your URLs and your logo, the branding will still apply - but don't let it skew your keywords (including your meta).

Extremely easy. After an approx. 5 minute installation that includes uploading some files, and adding a "Product" to the vBulletin product manager (in AdminCP), you will be active with our default settings.

If you want to change the URL formats, we have several pre-configured options.

However, changing individual URL formats is very easy as well. If you require any assistance, please post within the forums or via a support ticket.

    Its definetly worth it.

Its been 3 weeks and i have 10k pages indexed as opposed to 500 odd that were all supplemental.

My traffic has risen from 40 uniques a day to 500-600.

I did buy 2 PR8 links and about 6 PR7s though so that helps.

Just wish more members would actually sign up and post. :(

Nice traffic increase. If you're having trouble getting them to post, it's time to start thinking about some general marketing - perhaps a contest of some sort with a posting requirement?

    Personally id use different urls:

Baseball - MLB, Minor League and NCAA Baseball discussion forum.

    use

Sports Forum - NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL and MMA Sports talk message board

That way if you rename any forums or merge any in the future you wont lose all the threads in that forum in googles index.
