    It needs to point to the actual URL where your vBulletin forums reside.

    Do you mean that you have a vBulletin package with URLs like forumdisplay.php4/showthread.php4? Current vBSEO version support only .php extension, but the final vBSEO3.0.0 might support other extensions as well.

    You should be able to just download vBulletin again and choose the .PHP extension. Though, if you have pages indexed with the .php4 extension I don't think those old links will be redirected correctly.

    vBSEO 3.0.0 RC4 will allow users to use non conventional (.php) extensions: .html, .php3, .xxx etc.

    It is scheduled for release later today.
