I'm wondering if vB has any good/bad/impartial feelings about the vBSEO Mod.
Does it 'break the support contract' by having it installed? Do they not like sites that have it? How do they feel about it?
Thanks!

It does not break the support contract. Any third party mod that you install onto your website, vbulletin support will tell you to remove all the mods, and styles in order for them to help you find the problem.

I take it they are not a fan of vbseo then?
Is it easy to install / uninstall if this is the case? The reason I ask is because I am more than likely going to need vBulletin support, and I'm wondering how hard it will be to go back and forth installing/uninstalling and whatnot.
Well, I would not say that you need to uninstall it every time you ask for support there. If you ask them a question and they say it is related to vBSEO then you can come over here and ask, and we will do our best to assist you, whether it is a vBSEO problem or not.

Ah ok, I suppose you are right... this is a good alternative to their forum support
Thanks for your answers... I'm sure I'll have more questions later!
It's not that they aren't a fan of vbseo.... it's that they aren't a fan of ANYTHING.
Like Mike said, post it here first. odds are you will get an answer in the forums.
If not, a ticket can be made.
If still no resolution, we'll tell you to get a ticket with vB, who will in turn tell you to disable everything.
Pretty much, vb will tell you:
before they will even help you with anything. If so then to troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':
Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions
[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]
Next, disable all plugins.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?
98% of the time it's a waste of time.
Ah, ok. Thanks. Sounds like vB might be tough to get help from then :/
Here's hoping I won't need it!
Thanks again for the prompt responses.
It does not break the support contract. But, as mentioned, you will often need to disable vBSEO and other 3rd party plugins to verify they are not the source of the problem you report before the vB team will help you. That is a logical step and we encourage compliance.
