    Couple Questions

I run a forum exotiXboard - Powered by vBulletin. I'm very fimilar with internet marketing, seo, and apache, but I just dont have the time to fiddle with vb to spit up content relevent urls. We've used a few free rewrite mods from vb.org - none of them performed as advertised and actually did more bad then good by giving us a lot of duped urls.

Anyway, does vbseo rewrite search results? Does it make and submit sitemaps? Also, can my old mod urls be redirected to vbseo's?

    ### Plan of Attack ###
    1. Install vbSEO
    2. Move forum over to http://forum.exotixboard.com (in preperation for main site)
    3. 301 all old url's from previous mods to vbSEO.

    Hello,

vBSEO automatically 301 redirect original vBulletin URLs to SEOed URLs.
If you are planning to move your forum to a subdomain you will have to manually setup redirection in .htaccess.

Im aware of the sub-forum issue; however, im asking if many of my old urls can be 301'd. Old urls as in urls I had from a old vbrewrite free mod from vbulletin.org.

Also, does vbseo rewrite search results?

That depends on exact URL formats and domain you had before and after installation of vBSEO.

Also, does vbseo rewrite search results?
Do you mean URLs on vBulletin search results pages? If so, yes - vBSEO rewrite the links in the same way as on any other vB page.

vBSEO uses the Forum Title and Description that you define in your vBulletin AdminCP for the meta description.

Ahhh, that should be a feature. Since vbSEO is all about seo, being able to change title and description tags for each individual forum and index page would be nice. Changing the info in the admincp changes around the entire forum name. It looks kind of odd getting emails from forum name - keyword keyword keyword or similar. Know what I mean?

Actually, I would recommend not padding the forum title and description with keywords if it makes it unreadable or awkward to human readers.

As long as you give some thought to the keywords that are used, and write it in a user friendly fashion, I think you will be fine.

Or you can do the easier way: cPanel.

I'm fimilar with what to do for title and description tags. I'v been doing SEO for a good while. I was simply asking if it was possible to do. It would be more convieniant that way. I am trying to target a few keywords, but don't feel like changing the entire forum name to 2-3 keywords because it looks awkward.

Anyway, I will go ahead and order vbSEO and clean up my forums a bit.
