As far as I know it will be. The unencrypted version will be the only one offered. There will be no encryption once it is released.

As I understand it the purpose of the encrypted version was to protect the source from someone opening the files and copying some of the code and then posting a stolen-code "similar" mod at vbulletin.org, but the encryption comes at the expense of a slightly higher server load to process the encrypted files every time they are executed.

So once a slightly faster unencrypted version is offered, I don't see what the point of offering an encrypted version would be...

The cat will be out of the bag (and will have to be protected with the strong arm of the vBSEO company) but it will be a slightly faster cat :P
