    CMS with VB

    Hello,

I want to order your product but want to ask couple of questions before.

I have 2 domains but it's the same site. I have one domain which works with VB forum system and another domain that works with their CMS system. These 2 domains are the same site eventually, I just separate it because I worked on a WP system before and now changed it to VB CMS and kept the domain.

Do I need to buy 2 different licenses? one for my forum and one for my CMS system?

    Hi Mike,

No you don't need to buy two licences as long as it is only one installtion, vBSEO actually helps with setting up the CMS on a separate domain, you should note however you are likely to have cookie problems having them on completely different domain's so if someone is logged into the forum, they will not be able to post comments on the CMS because the cookie can't carry across the two domains.

Your best bet is to redirect the CMS domain to the forum domain now and have them all under one namespace, or even separate them by putting them under sub-domains which a cookie can travel between.

    Thank you.
About the cookie, my CMS system is open and doesn't require registration so people can make comments no matter where are they.

This sounds great but it will mean that you can't log in either so you wont be able to post CMS articles, you won't be able to moderate comments etc... This will cause you some big problems unless you make some other edits to allow the cookies to be shared between the two domains but this wouldn't be supported by vBSEO.

    Having 2 domains is fine.

Having 2 domains that load the exact same thing, is not.

You should chose one, and park the other on it. Otherwise, you're simply fighting yourself for SEO position.
