    Question Before I purchase

    Hi,

    I have a few questions before I purchase vBSEO, If you dont mind answering.

    1. I am running the newest version of vBulletin 3.6.8, is vBSEO compatable with this and will it work on newer versions of vBulletin?
    2. Is vBSEO secure?
    3. Once I buy vBSEO does this enable me to upgrade to newer version of the software free for life or only for a limited time?
    4. I am using a robots.txt and .htaccess file on my site will vBSEO interfear with them?
    5. On rewriteing of the .htaccess file does vBSEO allow customisation of the rewrites?

    Example :-
    • member.php?u=1 -->> member/user=1.html
    • forumdisplay.php?f=2 -->> forumdisplay/f=2.html
    • showthread.php?t=2 -->> showthread/t=2.html
    • etc...
    Thanks

    1. Yes - vBSEO is compatible with vBulletin 3.6.8. When new versions are released, our Pre-Release team evaluates them & we release a vBSEO upgrade (if needed).

    2. Yes - vBSEO is secure. We have had no reports of any type of security concerns.

    3. Your vBSEO license includes free upgrades for 1-year. After 1-year you will be required to optionally renew at $35/year in order to get access to new versions and continued access to our priority support ticketing system.

    4. vBSEO should not interfere with either robots.txt or .htaccess. However:

    a) You should post your robots.txt file here to allow others to evaluate it. There may be some directives you can add/remove in order to support your vBSEO functions.

    b) Upon installation, if anything related to your URL rewriting is not functioning, our support ticket will evaluate your .htaccess file for any potential errors or conflicts, and help you troubleshoot.

    In most situations, issues of type (a) or (b) above, do not occur.

    5. We allow for complete customization of all URL rewriting formats.

    member.php?u=1 -->> member/user=1.html
    forumdisplay.php?f=2 -->> forumdisplay/f=2.html
    showthread.php?t=2 -->> showthread/t=2.html
    I'm not quite sure you would want to rewrite in the above fashion (see blue highlights), however, it would be possible to configure it that way in theory. I would have to double check with our tech team to find out if we can use equal signs in such a manner.

    You can certainly do the following:

    member.php?u=1 -->> member/user-1.html

    One last question.

    Q: When I buy vBSEO is there any modification I would need to do with vBulletin as I do not like tampering with it?

    As for the idea of using = as come from the idea of this side check there url endings : http://dragonflycms.org/Forums/viewforum/f=1.html

    PS - This is my robots.txt file.
    PHP Code:
    removed
    I ran the test.php file from the download area and it says this even though Zend Optimizer is installed on my site.

    Very much the same function. IonCube differs a bit in that it allows for "runtime loaders".
