301 Redirect from Web Wiz to vB possible?

We are moving our forum from Web Wiz forum over to vB and I need to figure out how to redirect all the links to work right. I will say up front that I have never done anything with 301 redirects so my questions might not be worded correctly... please hang with me and I'll try to explain everything I did and need...

The current thread is in this format -

The new forum is vB install - It will be moved under /forum/ the /vbfourm/ is just a test import

I used the Impex provided by vB to do the import with modification only to pull in the date correctly? I have successfully pulled data into vB 3 and vB4 - would rather go right to 4 since it's the current version though.

Is there a way to make this happen using vbseo and the redirects possible? Will this be something I can figure out if I have never done redirects in the past?? ANY help would be appreciated - if this can happen using vbseo, we will be purchasing today!

with vBSEO you will need to install our 404 / 301 Tool After Import Redirect on ImpEx imported forums tool, and then use these rewrite rules in .htaccess:

RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} TID=([0-9]+)
RewriteRule forum_posts\.asp vbseo301.php?action=thread&oldid=%1 [L]

that will redirect your old links to new vBSEO ed URLs.

I am having an issue with something and cannot test this redirect.

I am using vbseo 3.2.2 with vB 4 - Standard URL setting in vB (all others won't work)

Admin CP, Forum Home, User Profiles, Threads list under each forum - each THREAD when I click on it shows a blank page!

Any idea why this might be happening??

vbseo 3.3.2 is not compatible with vb4. You MUST use vbseo 3.5 RC2.

OK - So it's working now with my threads, but the redirect is still not working correctly.

What information should I provide for someone to give me a hand?

Did you manage to achieve this ?? im a struggling to move a simple WP install to redirect to my new VB 4 install, my site has been ranking very well, altho i must admit i am a little worried now: VBulletin 4 Styles <--- watch my rankings drop now :(

Is moving an installation like this really taxing on SERP's long term ? or will / can we recover our rankings ? Sorry i am new to redirects
