$150 is ONLY for a 1 year period

On http://www.vbseo.com/purchase/buy-vbseo.html it is not clear that the $150 fee is for a 1 year period and that you must renew to get future upgrades. I was under the impression that it was $150 and you owned it... And half a year after using it I just found out that I will have to pay another $150 for the next year to get more upgrades.

Am I correct or was a I reading the terms of use wrong?

If this is correct, it's only fair to state that CLEARLY on the purchase vbseo page.

No, you only pay if you want to continue to download updates. You can continue to run the version you have forever.

(And it's only $35/year for renewal. The system is very much like the vBulletin licensing system.)
