I just installed this. Seems like something is up with the login part of it. I log in, get the menu. As soon as I click on a link it asks me for the login again. The login works, but brings me back to the menu.

edit: nevermind, got it working by removing www from the url. cookies acting funny.

I'm a bit confused on how to get this trackback/pingback thing working.

How does bottom box that list the trackbacks show up? Is there a variable I can place in my custom templates? How about the dropdown that lists the trackback URL etc. Will there be instructions on how to apply these to custom templates?

It displays automatically when there are pingbacks or trackbacks registered for that thread

I wish there were a couple of unencoded parts There are some things I'd like to modify. For example, being able to change the menu (the default menu layout doesn't work at all on my style), or being able to change the pingback table so it displays even with 0 entries (and just display a "No Trackbacks" message).

I noticed in the upgrade instructions it states to be sure to upload the .htaccess file. It's looks the same as the one I have now. Am I missing something here? It would make sense that if you already had vBSEO installed you'd have the correct .htaccess file, right? Why advise to upload it again... confused me, which ain't hard to do.

That's the way it was in the earlier betas of 3.0.0, but was changed later to be hidden unless needed.

Sometimes the .htaccess file changes, so that's why it mentions uploading that file as well.

What I would really like to see is a tutorial for using the Ping/Trackback feature with a practical example. I don't think I fully understand it, so I'm sure there must be others.

How does it help though ? It seems it is a lot of work to find trackback URLs relevant to a specific forum / post / thread
