51 sitemap files is absurd for your forum. you should have like 5 or 6.
check the settings file JPG in my guide (link in sig). you don't want to fill the sitemap with bloat.
I actually used your setting the first day of installation. I have it set up just as your instructions say so.
Just tried again...

Hello,
please try to disable Text sitemap option, remove urllist.gz file from data/ folder and regenerate sitemap.

That worked! Do I re-enable the text option now?
Thanks alot!
Miguel
I have the problem that my cron job is not doing anything.
I have to start the cron job manually to work. Or start the generation from vbseo interface.
Another strange thing: from the cronjob I get around 38k more URLs and one more sitemap file than from the vbseo interface.
Any hints on this one?
Can't all this be run by batch anymore? I have to compile the extra URLs file from skript anyway.
This is not required. Earlier text sitemap was used for Yahoo submission, but now yahoo supports xml sitemap as well.Do I re-enable the text option now?
If you run it manually in vB admincp->Scheduled task, it's running under your account and includes all subforums (including private).Another strange thing: from the cronjob I get around 38k more URLs and one more sitemap file than from the vbseo interface.

I had that feeling... thanks for pointing it out.
What can I do about the cron job not doing it's job without me starting it?
It gets started according to the logs, but no sitemaps are created.
Please try to increase max_execution_time setting in PHP configuration.

It is already 600 seconds. Which I use because of other huge skripts running. That's not it. Unfortunately there is no error information anywhere in the logs.
I rewrote my batch and put the sitemap job in there with php5-cli configuration. Works fine from commandline.
You should consider to put an alternative running method per shell skript in the docs. Many people, especially with big boards, will have skripts to compile data prior to making sitemaps. And, in my case, more skripts to submit maps to services which are not covered by vbseo_sitemap. To surround a cron job is a hassle anyway.
You can use system cron task to regenerate sitemap, the command line would be like:
Code:/usr/bin/php /path/to/forum/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap.php

I just installed the VBSEO sitemap and I followed the directions perfect. But when I go to access my Sitemap reports (I go to http://www.mysite.com/Forum/vbseo_sitemap) I get this error message: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@mysite.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I installed everything where it needed to be installed. I see VBseo in my control panel and I can see the settings. But when I click on reports I get that same error message. Is it because any reports havent been made yet since its scheduled to run at 2am? Would anyone know whats wrong?
Does your server have the mod_rewrite function?
