    Hello,

We looked into offering a sitemap for images when google first announced it but tabled the idea for reasons of attachment permissions.

We do not support 'fuzzy seo' techniques, and there's a mod for it on .org that has been exploited to pieces if you want to try it.

Adding the forum title to every image is just as bad as having NO alt text and will add load.

Linking is already possible with our acronym expansion feature.

One issue I have with the sitemap is the linkbacks in domain.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

As a sitemap that I submit to Google/bing etc which includes a linkback to vbseo.com and crawlability, If we paid for the linkback removal, should these still be here?

And also, do these links input themselves into the sitemap when google is reading it. I would assume since it's part of the sitemap .xml it would. I don't remember those links being there in the past.

    Besides that, looks good.

Bots do not read any of the markup from the XSL stylesheet. they see the raw XML (like the sitemap used to look in previous versions --- view -> source to see what they see). All the links/style are not shown to robots, only humans.

Keep in mind, the sitemap generator is a free product. While it works great with our core software, the branding removal you paid for was on the vBSEO core product, not on the sitemap product. The sitemap generator is an add-on we created and support free of charge for both vbseo customers and not.

Will there be a branding removal option also for the sitemap generator in the future?

    Doubtful.

Again, it's not designed to be read by anyone but the site owner and bots. it will have no effect on an actual link back to us. It's there for convenience to come visit us if you need help more than anything.

Since upgrading to sitemap 3, Im noticing lots of errors in Webmasters tools Crawl errors, current total stands at 3,306.....

Now, im pretty sure none of my sitemap settings were changed, but when clicking on any of the links in webmaster tools, the result returned is Invalid forum Specified ( 404 not found ), any ideas?

Our listing is Google is down from 59,800 to 51,600. Is this normal? I have the latest version installed since past 1 - 1.5 weeks.

What about the vbseo backlinks? Are we allowed to remove them?
