Hi,

rellek[org] - go and check out (German)
And if you want to talk about social software, check out WeWoTa.
Where can I configure who sees the stats?
How is the default access configuration?
any vb version compatibility? the site i want to use it on is still on 3.7.2
Its currently only avaible for Admins , in future versions we plan to improve this.
It should work with vB 3.6 and newer versions.

I completely understand your concern here. I'll quote myself to help address it:
One of the biggest opportunities I see with this widget is the potential of massive adoption, not only by vB-powered sites, but *any* site in the wild.
As I said, it's being released to you guys as a vB product, but it may very well become a standalone, or even a SaaS (Software as a Service). We created it as a vB plugin initially because it would allow us to use the vB framework to more rapidly create the first working version.
I especially like the idea of going SaaS: install is a snap (js include), and is not platform dependent (can run on php, python, aspx, coldfusion, whatever) - that translates into massive adoption potential, with minimal support overhead, which is one of our ultimate goals.
At present, we're hosting js/images/css files at our servers. The data retrieval & processing, including your password info is all stored on your server. This is a step towards SaaS, but is still more of a traditional product install method right now.
Obviously, there is a key problem with going SaaS when it comes to GA and is the fact that GA does not provide an API at the moment. Which raises privacy/security concerns since the third party (in this case us) would get access to your data.
I understand that something as sensitive as Analytics data makes a decision like using SaaS a critical one, and I certainly do not want to repeat what happened with Jelsoft and their recent AdSense feature that exposed some data to them, and they were unclear about how that data would be used, etc.
While brainstorming with the team on this problem a few good points came up: (1) read only access can be provided to a gmail account (say livestats@gmail.com) from within your Google Analytics account. That capability exists already, so that you can have the data retrieved without providing your Google login info. (2) The Analytics API is said to be launching in the near future and may provide JSON capabilities which would allow us to deliver the widget using SaaS while having your data served directly from Google to you, skipping us as the intermediary.
We'll continue to work on this and refine it as we go. For now, it's very important for you guys to give us your thoughts on providing this as SaaS.
What do you think?
Another alternative is providing both, a SaaS version and a PHP version (vB product or standalone). This approach would work for both, people comfortable with SaS, and those that prever to host everything on-site.
In any event, at this stage our main focus is making this as slick adn useful as possible, and we do not intend to loose focus by exploring any other delivery method other than the vB plugin approach. If you guys prefer to have the js/images/css files included in the alpha packages, please raise your hand, and we'll be happy to do so. =)

finally got my login stuff working. i had to make a new account and only give that account access to that one domain.
Works well, but I'd like to see this a firefox plugin, rather than a vbulletin plugin (I know you guys mentioned that it was only done this way for testing).
GA is coming out with an API soon (I have access if you want to know about it). It seems very powerful and can be accessed via AuthSub/Oauth/JS. I can see if I can get you included in the beta if you like.
Nick, you are our team's new hero =) - everyone is salivating just on the notion of possibly making it to the GA beta group.
Let's continue discussing via PM.
