Arrow vBSEO License Renewal System Launched - Is Your License Expired?

    Hello everyone,

Our vBSEO License Renewal System has been officially launched.

If your access to vBSEO upgrades/support ticketing system has expired, you will be required to submit your renewal.

Your license renewal grants you access to all of the latest vBSEO releases as well as the prioritized support ticketing system.

Before installing new versions of vBSEO (i.e. those released after your expiry date), you must renew each of your expired vBSEO licenses.

    The renewal fee is $35.

To submit your order, please visit the vBSEO downloads page. You can click the 'Renew' link found next to each of your expired forum URLs in your license list.

For those of you who received the download extension for vBSEO 3.0 GOLD after your expiry, we ask that you please voluntarily submit your renewal. We appreciate your support.

Thank-you for your patience in waiting for the launch of the new renewal system.

    Regards,

    The vBSEO Team

No - you don't need to do anything to your installation until you upgrade to the next version.

Um...don't mean to sound like the dumb boy, but I wasn't even aware that there was an expiry date on the originally purchased licences?

    ^ Neither was I.

I remember after purchasing it I went back and searched the site about expiration information, and couldn't find any information.

Although I like the product, I don't like how you didn't specify that the product ever expired in a sense that customer support won't be as good, etc. And I'm assuming we can get updates for life?

vBSEO is offered under an annual licensing basis, valid from the date of paid registration and expiring 365 days later. All upgrades provided by Crawlability during the period of registration are free. In the event that an annual license expires prior to renewal, the software will remain functional, but access to further upgrades will be disallowed. There is an additional fee for access to upgrades. Since access to upgrades expire only, the vBSEO license is referred to as a lifetime license.
That's what the current TOS says, but that is not the version I agreed to upon purchase.

    Thanks,
    Brandon

We have always had a lifetime ownership license, but annual renewal for upgrades/support.

This structure is necessary to allow us to continue to provide you with new versions of vBSEO that are compatible with all future versions of vBulletin, as well as including features and updates that improve SEO over time, and to continue to deliver helpful and timely support.

I don't agree with it either, but it is true:

    vBSEO 3.0.0 Gold

I didn't even know there was a vBSEO 3.0.0 Gold, am I supposed to install that instead of the one I bought in January? What does it do differently?

Also does vBSEO automatically stop working when my license runs out?

    Hey Astro Man,

all customers have been informed via E-Mail after 3.0. Gold became public

Your licenses wouldn't become inactive. You just can't download the versions released after the licenses expired.

    Hi Astro,

    Your vBSEO license is lifetime.

Once installed, you never need to worry about it "stopping working".

For expired licenses, it is ONLY *new* versions that you cannot install without renewing.
    • If your license is active, then you can install any available version.
    • If your license is expired, you can only install any versions available up to the date of your expiry.

Currently vbulletin is $160 to buy and $30 per year for updates.

VBSEO is $149 and $35 per year for updates.

I would have expected to have seen a somewhat lower price for the updates.
