vBSEO.com Upgraded to vBulletin 4 and vBSEO 3.5.0

Hello ,

vBSEO.com has been upgraded to vBulletin 4.0 RC2 and vBSEO 3.5.0 Beta 1. As both vBulletin and vBSEO are not in Gold stages both systems may contain bugs inside. Please report all bugs that you can identify so we can fix them. Please try using Bug Reporting for your bug reports.

vBulletin CMS is currently disabled as we are still on the process of moving important content under CMS. When this process is completed vBulletin CMS will also be enabled.

We also updated Downloads and Purchase pages. If you encounter any problems within these pages please report them within Bug Reporting .

Currently not all of our custom vBSEO.com modifications have been updated to work with vBulletin 4 as our main focus is finalizing vBSEO 3.5.0. We will enable vBSEO.com specific modifications in time. Until then some options like Staff/Usergroup images , Rate My Support and couple other vBSEO specific modifications will be disabled.

Great stuff. Is the board faster now than with 3.8? Or am I alone with this feeling?

It maybe related with missing Liveperson JS as it is currently not integrated into new style. This also can be a better chance for us to identify problems mentioned in vbseo website slow!

Don't think JS was the problem as I didn't see anything for a while after clicking a link.
I will see what time brings.

Can we request to change back to old 3.8 style ?
the new 4.0 style is not eye sooting, gives a lot of stress on eyes.

even the old 3.5 style does not helps :(

As I'm sure you are aware, the 3.x styles are not compatible with vb4.

Our style is not complete.... we are adding things here and there as we go. You've probably noticed a few changes made today already if you were online earlier today. We're working on it.

oh god.. I saw this and wanted to vomit.. I mean wow.. vB4 is fairly awful looking.. no offense.

God I thought I was on the wrong site? vBSEO went vB4. I think vBSEO needs to quickly pull out thieir vBSEO style.

Juan has been working on it all day. We will have our own custom style up soon. I do agree with you, the stock vb4 skin is a bit lacking in 'style'.

It's in progress - it's definitely not a trivial task now with the "StyleVars" approach, mainly due to the number of inconsistencies between the actual style elements across the different vB areas.

Sounds good. I hope it's similar to the vBSEO style you had with the green etc.. That style was easy on the eyes and took a light load on browsers

Yep, it's the "greenie" style, with several refinements.

just wondering guys ... right now i'm running a 3.8.4 vB + 3.3 SEO, i've planned the upgrade in the next days ... what is the better way to do this?

maybe i need to unistall everything (all the add-ons and the older SEO) and then re-install the new SEO onto the latest vB? or i can upgrade the latest vB over the older SEO and only after that i can upgrade the latest SEO?

The best way to do this is testing first. You should backup your forum and create a backup installation that is identical to your running forum. After that you should disable all your plugins prior of Upgrade process. After upgrade process you should try enabling your mods one by one to see which ones are compatable with vB4
