vBSEO.com Installs TweetBoard!

What is it?
TweetBoard is a Twitter-powered chat log/forum embedded in every vBSEO.com page. TweetBoard is a new service offered by 140Ware. 140Ware was founded by our CEO, Juan Muriente, with collaborative efforts by vBSEO's lead developer, Oleg Ignatiuk.


How Does it Work?
Viewing Tweets requires no special registration. Posting Tweets and replying to others' postings requires you to login to your Twitter account and allow access to the TweetBoard service. Once logged in, you can contribute to the board.


What's the Purpose?
Think of it as an instant notepad. The vBSEO team will be making occasional announcements, links to hot topics, and many other postings related to SEO, or vBSEO as a company.

Using the power of Twitter, and the ease of use of TweetBoard, vBSEO will be able to facilitate instant important topics for you, our customers, to notice. Having the tab in the left side bar will give you an instant look at what's going on. Get instant access to all important announcements. Best of all, you don't need a Twitter account to enjoy the benefits of the service if you just chose to read.

Our TweetBoard will be open for public use. Thus, it will be moderated. While we encourage your participation, we need to enforce that the topics are at least vB, vBSEO, general seo, or other web-related topic that the majority of vBSEO users would be interested in reading about.

Not really..it doesn't 'atuo post'. Tweetboard is a 'gathering' of tweets. The easiest way to think of it is as an RSS feed. It 'pulls' in your 'board' from twitter and organizes them in a threaded display ON your site.

All the sourced messages posted by the vbseo user appear on the tweetboard. Additionally, it contains posts from other people posting to the board directly.

Tweetboard allows threaded conversations.
currently on twitter you can usually click back and see conversations you've had by the reply link, tweetboard allows you to see the whole conversation in one window.
it's pretty slick if you carry on a lot of conversations on twitter

Is there any way to turn off the Tweet thing and Live Stats here? It makes browsing the vBSEO board slow and buggy.

Edit: Killing the whole tweetboard.com domain in Windows HOSTS file, and static.crawlability.com plus google-analytics.com has removed them and sped up pageloads 10 times.

I noticed the same thing, tweetboard delays the page loading, I have to remove the script from my boards for now. I think mainly because tweetboard.com is not responding.

Is there anyway to edit the vbseo_functions.php file on line 2070 to add a custom profile field check where a user can select whether they want to disable tweetboard or not?

some of my users love this, some hate it. I'd like to give my users to option to disable it.

You could easily put in 'Single-Selection Radio Buttons' (admincp - User Profile Fields) into your users CP (Switch Tweetboard On/Off) and then put field conditions around the tweetboard javascript.
