Can't wait for the next release
Why does it take so long time for the next version of vBSEO to be relased?

+1, it starts to be boring....
May we have an estimation of the release date ?
Still no estimated timeframe for 3.6.1?
Ok, I'm tired of begging for a date. 18 months is my limit.
Time to deactivate Likes and install another thanks mod with rep points...
Hold on, I am explaining the release date:
Sometime next year.
There is no clear road map at this point and in 18 months we have seen 0 development on the product.
I suppose vBSEO does not have enough resources to keep developing it seems.
Yet they seem to reject it in every explanation. I am starting believe that they are waiting for vB5. This the only explanation.
There may be several possible explanations, but unless we hear from the developer we may only speculate. Speculations are fun, but they are very often wrong.I am starting believe that they are waiting for vB5. This the only explanation.
One possible reason, which hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread, is the relevance of the old-style search engine optimization techniques in light of recent Google over-optimization penalties, and Google algorithm updates like the "Penguin".
Less optimization may be more beneficial these days. Actually, de-optimization may be beneficial for some websites.

IcEWoLF, I probably wouldn't suggest to make such a drastic change. If we go to the control panel to see what features we would miss, we would likely find several great ones which improve performance (speed, etc), and are not meant to directly improve SEO.
In 2007, when I launched my site, I was attracted to vBSEO by the search engine friendly URLs. Those days I think the words in URLs still had substantial effect on improving rankings. Today, if I had to start all over again, I would likely go without the SEO-friendly URL feature, and I'd just keep my URLs short.
There are a few vBSEO features which, over the past few months, I have turned off to purposely de-optimize my site. But this is just my experimenting without yet seeing positive results, so I would not want to suggest others do the same. But the fact is that something which worked in the past to improve our SE rankings may not necessarily help our sites today.

I've also wondered about vBSEO and why their continued updates/innovation has dropped off the map. We have a fairly large site and are thinking about dropping vBSEO altogether when vB5 comes around. I don't want to stick with a product that takes over a year to come out with something to improve upon their product.
Thoughts?

I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of updates as well. We've been waiting a long time for a remedy to the private forum attachment CDN issue along with other improvements.
I want my money back please!
I paid for product support last year for nothing. I have been considering dropping for a while now. It has not delivered a better SEO report than VB would have and the lack of dev or mod is troubling to say the least.
