    What happened to this estimate:

Using the same time scale, that gives us about a month of anticipated development time before vB4 Gold is released (2 betas, ~ 2 weeks each). If vB continues on this schedule, we should be able to have our product close to final during beta1, re-testing in beta2, and release vBSEO 3.5 the same day vB4 goes Gold after a short QA process. This all rests on vB being predictable however, and thus our target release date may be subject to change.
When I read that back in October, it assured me that you are on top of it and I won't be dealing with a buggy vb4 and a buggy vbseo at the same time.
Now I can't upgrade to the GOLD version of vb4, two weeks after being released, worst we are still in RC1 with vbseo!!

I didn't see any date for RC2, ... GOLD there.
Releasing a stable version should be the top priority I think not some fancy Control panel. vbseo is the kind of plugins that should be ready as soon as the main software is ready, it provides essential functionality (for those who install it) and you cannot upgrade vb without having high confidence in the stability of vbseo. With the new features of vb4 in terms of seo it is even more urgent for you guys.

enQuira, we agree fully that releasing a stable product is the #1 thing however we still insist on quality so we will not brand our product as Gold until we are happy that all major bugs are fixed.

We should be releasing RC2 very soon and depending on how quickly bug reports come in we may then go straight to gold or we may have to release RC3, either way as we have always done we will ensure stability before we call our product stable.

Will it already include better support for vBulletin 3.8.x ? I am looking forward to try it out but I am not yet ready to upgrade our forums to vBulletin 4

Yes, rc2 will have better 3.x support, but note that it is not final software and we don't recommend using RC's on production sites.

I installed on 3.8 and nothing was being rewritten despite reloading my settings and entering the correct license code. Is there some changes to .htaccess that I missed? I read about about it not being recommended for 3.8 just yet.

Yes, rc1 simply doesn't work well on vb3.x. We recommend 3.3.2 for 3.x series until rc2 drops, and of course, RC's are for testing and should not be used on live websites.

You are better off waiting for vBulletin 4.0.1 anyway - there are major compatibility issues in the gold version with IE6 (14% of my users) and lots of users are having logging-in issues. I wish that I had waited.

Thanks. It seems that 3.5 has almost no 3.8 support whatsoever. Does your recent comment mean we can expect the full suite of features and functionality that you have introduced with vBSEO 3.5 to be usable on vBulletin 3.8.x, beginning with Release Candidate 2?

3.5 doesn't introduce any new features, save for the control panel itself. It is 99% a vb4 compatibility version update. Focus has been on vb4 support. RC2 is the first version that has gone through any serious QA on the 3.x vB series.
As always, RC's are for testing purposes, and we recommend staying on the stable 3.3.2 package on live instances until 3.5 is final.
