They also said they would be waiting for 4.0.3 to be released which was released yesterday - i guess now they will have a test to ensure no bugs between the releases etc and we will look forward to vbseo gold in the not-too-distant-future

vBulletin 4.0.3 runs perfect with vBSEO 3.5.0 RC3 versions in fact vbseo.com is currently running vb 4.0.3

look out...I'm doing an upgrade to both VB4 and VBseo 3.5 RC3.

Really quick....do I need to disable anything in the VB Admin CP regarding their own SEO stuff ? I hear they have their own cheap SEO version now..

vb4 has had this since day 1 of vb4.

vbseo automatically sets the settings correctly when imprting the product file. Just don't turn it on, and you will have no issues.

Gold will be an additional release. RC3 will not BE gold. it is the release before gold, if all goes as planned.

What do I have to turn off? I didn't see any options to turn off the SEO option for vBulletin. (hopefully its Off by default)

vbseo automatically sets the settings correctly when imprting the product file.
    nevermind...gotcha !

It has not been thoroughly tested, but i do not see any reasons why it should not. If you have a test site, i would suggest setting up 4.0.3 there and trying it out first.

    need immediate assistance please..

why in the README instructions do you have

Browse to the 'docs' folder of the installation package and open
    • vB3.x 'crawlability_vbseo_vb3.xml', Click 'Import'.
    • vB4.x 'crawlability_vbseo_vb4.xml', Click 'Import'.
You guys make it sound like we have to import both vB3.x and vb4.x

I only imported 4.x since it seemed like the right thing to do..

Also, why no instructions about the .htaccess stuff.. Do we no longer need to have .htaccess files ?

you are correct. If you are on VB4 then you only need to import the vb4.xml file and not both.

As for the htaccess stuff. I can't remember now. But have you taken a look in the do not upload folder. There might be something in there.

They might need to improve there README.

I keep the .htaccess file the way it was before....since I didn't notice any changes in these newer versions. If we do need to remove .htaccess, please let us know.

I have another issue now...it seemed to occur once I turned the vbSEO plugin back on.

My forum home page switched to forum.php instead of index.php like it was when I had the plugin disabled.

I would like my main forum page to be index.php

    any help is appreciated.

Yeah do not remove the htaccess file. That is still needed.

As for the index and forum problem. I had that too.

You need to rename forum.php to index.php (well that is what solved it for me).

Or if that does not work, try this: vBSEO 3.5 Release Candidate 1 is here!

hornstar, I really appreciate your quick replies..

I was going to rename it to index.php... but there is already an index.php there. It will conflict... what to do with the index.php that is already there ?
