I wish I could, but at the same time, we simply can't be unfair with these new customers.
I can understand that, but it still kind of sucks to think you are eligible for a nice discount only to find out the e-mail was delayed and it has expired. I hope that next time, you will at least give 24 hours for each promotion, 3 hours is just not enough time especially when you send thousands of e-mails at once.

I got the email really late too but thankfully my trusty iphone did handled the transaction with moments to spare!

$99 was the right price point for me. Picked up two. I need to give a user here credit for it since he's been preaching to me about vbseo for months now / can I add his affilliate id after the fact?

You know what? The online world needs such a product. An affiliate program that allows referrers to "claim" sales after the fact. Ironically, we are launching a product named "claim-a-sale", but it's not exactly that.

Maybe, if we try hard enough, we'll be able to create programatic ways to allow people to claim commissions on "word of mouth" referrals. Why not, I mean, they were the "purchase drivers".

True it is quite unreasonable for third world countries with time.
It was around 5:00am when i received the mail. Promo coupons should be valid atleast for 24hours to make everyone around globe.

Afterall vbseo serve around the globe isn't it?

Sounds like this promo backfired a bit. I was ready to buy at the $99 price just to hold on to another license.

Hi guys - thanks for all the feedback. We'll definitely take this into consideration and make changes for the next time. One important thing is that we're going to try to do the promotion so that all timezones receive the notice at more convenient times.

FYI - We currently have a Twitter channel. If you follow us you can get near real time updates. Our Twitter channel was provided with slightly advanced knowledge (before the email was sent). It has many advantages over email due to delays in mails leaving the queue, and particularly spam filters that tend to eat the emails all too often. Please follow us here:
The vBSEO Team (vbseo) on Twitter

If you are not yet using Twitter, we encourage you to create an account and give it a try. It's an important new technology that people are really buzzing a lot about at the Web 2.0 conference.

The early bird pricing was an extreme discount, and was intended only for those who discovered the email early. However, the current discount level of $129.07 (at the time of this post) is a big discount, larger than our introductory bulk discount rates in fact.

We also sent out an email last night, and some tweets, so that people would be prepared that a special email would be going out today. While the discount was a surprise event to happen with the launch, we did try to give everyone a hint that something important was to be expected.

I believe the time zone issue was the key issue. We'll work on fixing this for the next time.

For now, I do encourage first time vBSEO users to purchase at the active discount rate. We are confident that you will be very happy with your purchase, and your maxed out forum.

Just to row in with my gripe. Living in Germany I can say that the times of the vouchers/emails doesn't suit any Europeans.

I think it's pretty funny that everyone complains about the price and that vbseo should run sales more often, but every time they do, it turns into a disater of complainers over $10. After this mess, if I were vbseo, i wouldn't run ANY sales any more. it's simply not worth the hassel of compainers.

ITS STILL CHEAPER THAN REGULAR PRICE. the longer you sit here and complain that you missed the first price, it's going to go up on you again. lol

It is still cheaper then regular price but still its almost the price of the actual software. Its like getting a steering wheel for the same price as the car itself and no matter how essential the wheel is, I rather get another car for that price and use my own way of steering

Anyway, not complaining here but another suggestion for next time would be to prolong the discounts around the world(not fun getting e-mail at 3am) and in exchange for the extra time, allow the validity of the discount to apply to new customers only since I noticed that people bought 2 or more copies for the $99 price tag. Old customers that already know all the benefits of it and have tested it would be able to pay the regular price for a next copy with confidence. On the other hand, new customers(like me), are weary of the price tag in relation to the benefits. After half a year of pondering back and forth, this morning was the first time I actually took out my credit card but unfortunately missed it.

PS, signed up to twitter so let us know when to set the alarm clocks for the next run

    Hi Moddis,

I agree that we need a better strategy so that non-USA based customers also are given a better chance to take advantage of the early bird rates. Their is still an active $20 discount.

A year is far too long to wait. I'm sure that vBSEO would have delivered results with a value far exceeding it's price. We have had a several customers say they would have paid 10 times as much to get vBSEO installed. We have no current plans to increase the price, even with this great endorsement.

Note: Many of our existing customers often purchase licenses at the discounts and save them until later when they launch new forums. Those who have non-vBSEO forums, don't wait for the discount to get maxed out once they know what vBSEO can do for them.

Separate emails for each major time zone with different promo codes will probably work best for us in the future.

I encourage you to lock in the $20 savings and get started today. SEO takes time, but you'll be very happy in 30/60/90 days.
