    vBSEO 3.3.0 RC1 Released

    Full compatibility with vBulletin 3.8.x.

This is our first release candidate available to all users. We anticipate two more iterations before 3.3.0 GOLD, including RC1 and RC2. When we are certain it is bullet proof, the vBSEO 3.3.0 GOLD final release will follow.

We have added some very interesting new twists to some of our core features, and we even added a new feature to further max out your link consensus. Check out Canonical URLs and Virtual HTML Display in your vBSEO Control Panel (vbseocp.php).

Other new features include LinkBack Hits, Thread Prefix Support, Guest Only Acronym Expansions, Dynamic Metas for Tag and Showpost pages, and Thread Tag Support for Relevant Replacements.

A full list of new features, updates, and fixes will be provided in the 3.3.0 GOLD release announcement.

NOTE: If your vBSEO license is currently expired you must renew before installing vBSEO 3.3.0 RC1 on your forum. Just click the 'Renew' link next to your forum URL in your license list

Important: vBSEO 3.3.0 requires an update to your .htaccess file.

IMPORTANT: If you are upgrading from a previous vBSEO version, please note down your selected URL preset *before* upgrading.

After the upgrade, you *must* re-select your preset and click on "load preset" to have all the new URL types conform to your preset.

If you have custom URLs, you must manually go through each new URL type (has a "NEW" tag in red) and enter a custom URL that matches your format. That's why we strongly suggest using the provided presets as opposed to customizing URLs on your own. Presets will ensure your URL structure is always consistent, even after upgrades that may include new URL types.

    Thanks for the release!
Tempts me to upgrade to vB 3.8.x (I'm currently on 3.6.x)

Btw, has the vBSEO demo panel been upgraded too ?

EDIT: Nvm. The demo's still at vB 3.6.x and vBSEO 3.2

    1. May I know, what changes are done in the htaccess as I already have an edited htaccess.

okay, I just found these changes in two lines, is that all?

    Code:
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(admincp/|modcp/|cron|vbseo_sitemap)
    RewriteRule ^((archive/)?(.*\.php(/.*)?))$ vbseo.php [L,QSA]

(a ? is removed from above line)

    2. And I am not using any preset, I have my own custom URL's defined. So, if I just take a backup vbseo_all.xml and restore it on upgrade, would it be all?

    Thanks

I am fairly sure I selected one of the presets when I first installed VBSEO several months ago, but now I see "custom settings" written in red in my vBSEO 3.2.0 control panel

I believe it was the first (default) setting I selected, the forum is Mondo3.com - Telefonia mobile 3G in Italia - Forum

can you help me in detecting what the best choice would be, because I want to "stick" with a default starting from now, but without losing lots of hits by dramatically changing my URL structure ?

so, if by going to the default settings can be ok, even changing something but it has to impact the minimum possibile of pages

    thank you
