vBSEO 3.0 Release Candidate 5 Available

    Attention all vBSEO customers,

Many of you took the opportunity to install and explore vBSEO 3.0 RC4 during its Labor Day release. The feedback we have received about our LinkBacks (including the new *RefBacks*) and social bookmarking features included in RC4 was extremely positive.

Although our pre-release team and first customers to install RC4 discovered some bugs, I am happy to announce that vBSEO 3.0 RC5 is now available from your download area, and includes fixes for all known RC4 issues.

A special thank-you is due to everyone who helped with the RC4 testing and bug reporting, especially the vBSEO Pre-Release Team who always plays a fundamental role in ensuring that our releases are close to bullet-proof!

    LinkBacks

We have made notable refinements to the LinkBack system, based on feedback from our user community.

The changes involved to our *RefBacks*. Specifically, we incorporated data from user refback reports to exclude unsuitable RefBacks sent from search engine result pages.

Note: *RefBacks* are intended to create linkbacks to content pages NOT search result pages, therefore, we make an effort to block incoming SE referrals from entering the RefBack system.

If you experienced any issues with your RC4 installation, we recommend you upgrade to RC5 to correct them.

    Enjoy

Hi, how much longer till the full 3.0 is availble. I was under the impression this was going to be the final release candidate (4). Please let me know as I think its only worth while installing the released stable version.

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but everything appears to be working ok with RC5 *EXCEPT* in the vbseocp.php panel, I have no settings below the very fist page (it's literally one page instead of dozens). It has a space for the license, a directory listing, and import/export, but that's it! Anyone else experiencing this? I'm using the RC5 zend version and vb 3.5.2 (with latest patches).

I've seen it happen when the config file hasn't been written completely. When you view source the HTML just stops as whatever makes the page basically spews on the unexpected end of the config file.

I reinstalled to regain my config file again... then painstakingly went through the configuration again triple checking it was as it was before, and then finally exported a copy of the config locally to make sure if it ever happens again that it won't screw up the config.
