We're working on the lastpost issue, trying to reproduce it and fix asap.

    Trancetopia,

if your forums reside in the root, you DON'T need to change it. It is only required to rewrite root URLs when forums are located in subfolder:
    (7) UPDATE: CRRs in Root (beta2) update - Several refinements have been made to the 'CRR in Root' beta feature.

Hmmm, i guess i was lucky to not install straight away.
Perhaps the download should be taken down since there are issues with its core fucntionality.

Thumbs up vBSEO 2.3.1 has been released

Two bugs have been fixed as described at the bottom of the 2.3.0 release announcement. One of them was a major issue (2.3.0 - Last Post / First New Post) which forced us to take 2.3.0 off the download area.

Thank-you all for your help in determining the source of the issue . Enjoy!

The mod_rewrite directives in httpd.conf are similar to .htacces ones, but NOT exactly the same (they should be slightly modified accordingly to your server configuration).

However, the .htaccess contents was not changed in the recent version, so you may just leave it as is (the directives included in the announcement are related to a new beta feature "CRRs in the root" only and do not affect the main .htaccess file)

my forum in root --> should I not upgrade? What is the differences of having the forum in the root or in a sub directory anyhow?

If your forums are in the root, you'll be fine.

    sitka,

it is only related to the sites where forums reside in subfolder AND user wants to use our new beta feature "root-level CRRs" (i.e. rewrite non-vB URLs).

    Standard functions are working fine!
