vBSEO 2.0 Gold Released for Testers

Hello everyone,

vBSEO 2.0 Gold has been released for testers with all current issues fixed. We have added 3 new rel="nofollow" features (see below). Based on a user request, we also modified the 'Cleanup HTML code' to ensure compatibility with Google AdSense.

Here is a summary of updates included in vBSEO 2.0 Gold:

(1) NEW FEATURE: Rel=nofollow ALL External URLs - This option can be enabled within the vBSEO Admin CP to prevent search engines from following any link within your forum to external websites (i.e. URLs that point to other domains).

(2) NEW FEATURE: Rel=nofollow Links TO Member Profiles FROM Postbit - This option can be enabled within the vBSEO CP to prevent search engines from following links to member profiles found in posts.

(3) NEW FEATURE: Rel=nofollow Links TO Member Profiles FROM Forumhome - This option can be enabled within the vBSEO CP to prevent search engines from following links to member profiles found in your forum homepage.

(4) UPDATE: The vBSEO 'Cleanup HTML code' feature will no longer remove Google AdSense comments (<!-- google_ad_section_start --> and <!-- google_ad_section_end -->)

(5) UPDATE: vBSEO will no longer provide an error message when SERVER_SOFTWARE reports a web server incompatible with your vBSEO installation. We will provide troubleshooting information for users who attempt to install the wrong version.

(6) UPDATE: "Geek Article System" compatibility updated for vB 3.5.x.
(7) UPDATE: T2DMan's "Google Sitemap" compatibility updated.

(8) FIX: Logout function in vbseocp.php.
(9) FIX: Backup error messages in vBSEO 2.0.
(10) FIX: Incorrect announcement links within vBAdvanced.
(11) FIX: Archive rewrite error occurring for specific configurations of some forums.
(12) FIX: Error message when pointing at vbseo.php. Note: The vBSEO Admin Control Panel is vbseocp.php. vbseo.php should not be accessed or linked to directly.
(13) FIX: Special characters in member names not included in member profile URLs causing member conflicts. Special option in config_vbseo.php to enable special characters ability (VBSEO_REWRITE_MEMBER_MORECHARS). Note: This option is not included in the vBSEO CP and must be enabled manually if desired.
(14) FIX: Discovered a redundant SQL query.
(15) FIX: Issue with redirection for static URLs with dots (.).
(16) FIX: Forumjump appended info.
(17) FIX: Error message when viewing announcements.
(18) FIX: Popup windows failing in IE browsers.
(19) FIX: Reputation comments link directing to the wrong thread page.

Download Location: Testers may download vBSEO 2.0 Gold from their User Control Panel at the http://www.vbseo.com forums. Under the "Miscellaneous" section, there will be a link to "Download vBSEO".

Install Instructions:
(1) Close your forums via your admincp
(2) Backup your .XML settings file (through 'forums/vbseocp.php')
(3) Upload all the files in the '/upload' folder
(4) Restore your previous settings by uploading your backup .XML file
(5) Re-open your forums

you are using Zend while Kall is using ionCube... yes, the logs show you were the first to download

Where's the demo version? Just got an email about 2.0 Gold and $149. However, there are still people testing as seen in this thread.

I run a paid site so there are no unregistered users allowed. Is there a "Lite" or trial version to try and see if this thing works?

@gigaenvy: There are no known bugs with vBSEO as of this moment. The issues mentioned above are most likely related to the ftp settings (while uploading encripted files)

What is "done" with the gold update? This mod works when the site is purely registration based? In my situation, you have to pay to read and post. Otherwise, you only see thread titles where viewing of them is prohibited.

Let me know because I am always open to improving my visibility to spiders/bots.

vBSEO would still help to improve your forum display pages. However, you should really consider developing at least a few forums with content open to all - otherwise, the search engines will not be able to index your content, thereby preventing you from getting any significant Web traffic.

I dont know if i'm right in here, but i like to say thanks to all of you, who where responsible for vBSEO IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM!

I had some different problems with the mod rewrite (apache modul - 403 Error with enabled .htaccess), but i solved it with writing "+FollowSymLinks" in front of the .htaccess. Is this correct? (Writing it in httpd Confixx made nothing better.)
