vB4 and vBSEO 3.5 Upcoming Release Notes

The idea of publishing your forum with the beta is only valid if the estimated return is in your judgement greater than the calculated risk.

Imagine the cms. With it you have a completely whole look of your "forum" and you are far more professional on the market (may it be that you want to sell your forum, present it to clients, or ad agencies). Now you present your whole content as "written by professionals" and not only user generated content. That changes everything and comes with the risk of installing a beta with possible data failure and more problems.

Using only the forum would be nor worth for me. Using the cms makes me think more than twice.

I have a mate who has the beta 3 VB4.. now after spending 2 days with it i have found many errors / bugs.. Normally i am the first one to scream "Upgrade Upgrade" but this time i will keep patient.. That said i want / Need VBSEO 3.5 ASAP so i can start a fresh forum... i was lucky enough to have 2 days to play around with VB4 b3.. and the template system is better but from the looks of thing every VB owner who upgrades is going to need to spend days tampering with templates...

Nothing special but here is my first template: http://i35.tinypic.com/24512sz.jpg (still not complete, but my mate was kind enough to let me play around on his local host so that when VB gold is ready i have less work to do) and only posting this info because any info on VB4 is good news. really not a fan of the default VB4 style :( so if people like my work i will get started on a few when i get my copy of VB4 (about 1 week away) so people have a choice.

I know this is going to annoy the admin/mods.. but a rough time frame for VBSEO 3.5 ?? really would like to get started on my project asap, but seeing how much difference VBSEO makes and also the new VB crappy URL's everything is on hold for VBSEO.

The only time frame we can offer is that vbseo 3.5 will not ship until vb4 goes gold.

Where is the promised announcement!

It will be published when everything is set in order. You may have noticed we had receive a security issue and applied a patch for that which is higher priority then the announcement. That delayed the announcement . It will be published asap.

is there at least a way to make vbseo work with some minor code editing? As i am sure there is some customers here upgraded to vb4 but having problems because vbseo 3.3 doesnt work with it.

So at least a minor code to fix that error would be great

vBulletin 4 is a totally new system with different variable and template usage. Thats why vBSEO 3.3.x will not work with vBulletin 4 with minor edits.

Perhaps a dumb question, but why in the world doesn't vBSEO name the version that works with vBulletin 4.0, vBSEO 4.0? That would certainly lead to a lot less confusion.
