Hello vBSEO Customers and Friends,

The vBSEO team is hard at work developing the next generation of enhancements for your vBulletin community. One of the most popular plugins in the vBulletin community is the vBSEO Sitemap Generator, currently in use by tens of thousands of sites.

We are extremely pleased to inform you that a fully revamped version of the vBSEO Sitemap Generator, v3.0 Pre-Release, is being released to all customers effective immediately!

About the "Pre-Release" build
The new sitemap has been extensively tested in numerous forums and we are confident of it's stability, however this release will not undergo the usual beta testing period that enables testing across many more environments and platforms. For that reason we won't tag it "Gold" at this time, but rather allow a short (strict) period of 24hrs (or less) to make this release officially "Gold".

Increased SERPS per search queries!
Most (if not all) testers have reported SIGNIFICANT increases in search engine results listings per search queries. That is, after installing the new sitemap, sites are seeing more of their pages come up, more often, for different search queries.

So what is the secret? It came to us as a surprise! The new sitemap alters the way data is structured in fundamental ways. Sitemap 3.0 segments different content areas into separate files, so you end up with a unique set of files per content type: forums, blogs, cms, groups, albums, members, tags, etc. In addition, the new sitemap has an extended priority feature that utilizes the built in 'weight' tool of the vBulletin XML sitemap generator for individual forums, CMS sections and articles to act as a multiplier.

We believe these changes are responsible of delivering the increased returns we are seeing from the preliminary numbers. Please do us (and yourself) a favor and check it out in your own forums! (screenies from webmaster tools and Google Analytics are very much welcomed)

The new sitemap also features a clean and beautiful interface, built from the ground up. We believe it reflects the quality, precision and attention to detail placed into each aspect of this release. We are passionate about building software, and great software is beautiful inside, and out.

Again, we are making version 3.0 available in Pre-release state for 24 hours (or less), unless anything major comes up, we expect to tag this release "Gold" within this time period, at which point we will open the download up for non-customers.

Status Update 05.11.2010

We have applied a couple of changes to vBSEO Sitemap Generator 3.0 and will continue investigating the memory_limit issues that were reported. That's why we will spare weekend for Quality Assurance tests. We target the Gold release early next week. Sorry about the delay.

Those files should not be there. I just corrected the package. Please try downloading it again.

Google chrome can now display to main sitemap xml on browser however it contains two vbseo links.
One of them is Crawlability Inc. and the other is vbseo

Any permission to prune of these?

I am succesfully running sitemap generator on 7 million post boards with no issue. Please make sure your previous generation was completed and you don't have a progress.dat file located inside vbseo_sitemap/data folder

If they are a concern to you SEO-wise, absolutely (please remove the href's not the text). However, the code that generates the page formatting, including those links, resides in the XSL styling file, which is external to the XML data file and is ignored by spiders. Additional information supplied by Juan : You are allowed to remove the link however you are not allowed to remove Branding for vBSEO Sitemap Generator. Also customization of xsl files are not officially supported.

How many urls do you choose to add to your sitemap files ?

The issue actually seems like with your server as the function that gives error is gzip function.
