Nice marketing stunt indeed; and its already coasting at $91 usd! Looks like no underdog pickup for this one

PS/offtopic: where do I report piracy? I think I found one when I was looking for vbulletin resources eariler today (can provide link to download, and downloaded copy if they blocked your domain).

We'll probably see some last minute bidding in smaller increments.

I'd laugh real hard if the auction end up higher than the actual retail price

Well - if anyone wants to make history, that would certainly go straight into our Wikipedia entry.

That would be me, thank you. I saved a whopping $5.50. But I am satisfied because I was just finalizing my decision to buy the product when I was notified of the auction -- Joe, you're a mind reader.

I didn't have to do much. I got in the 4th bid I think and set my maximum bid up so I wouldn't have to monitor the auction. Was ready to go as high as 148.00. I remember a number of years ago trying to buy some old NeXT computers to mod them and having to spend some anxious moments toward the end of the auction, desperately trying to stay the leader with a very slow 56K connection that kept dropping me off-line. I lost the computers and then met another modder who set me up with 5 cases for less than half the price of one of the auction cases.

    Still haven't finished modding them.

Whoa! What does this have to do with winning the fabulous vBSEO auction? Well, the level of excitement is nearly the same. I have spent 35 years in flooring and now have a forum dedicated to the support, education and entertainment of my peers. I've tried to do a flooring forum before and failed. I have been a moderator and an administrator on a few of them, enjoyed it, but also seen them tumble from their once proud prominence.

I opened a forum after making a rash decision one weekend and in less than 2 weeks had almost 100 members and over 1000 posts -- and the only promotion was a few emails. I have so far managed to keep my identity a secret, so I would appreciate none of you revealing anything you know about me. It may seem odd, but I want it to be about my industry cohorts, not an individual. (And any of you would be very welcome to post some consumer/DIY questions in the consumer sections - hint, hint)

My search for a better future than previous attempts and other forums led me here. I'm happy to be among you all and very happy to have saved almost half a sawbuck. Not that I'm a tightwad er nuthin'.

Thank you again. I am sure we will meet again in the forums because I am really good at screwin' things up. So you see, I will make you earn every discounted dollar, Joe.

Glad to have you aboard! And the eBay auction was a fun one - so I wouldn't be surprised if we run it again sometime in the future. I wish the discount had turned out to be better - but (again) at least it was a fun process!
