The "Likes Tree", finding a forum's most useful content will change forever....

A peek into what's coming from vBSEO: the "Likes Tree". It gives you (and your users) an instant "birds-eye-view" of the "Likes" distribution in a thread, allowing you to *quickly* identify the most useful/important content, no matter how long the conversation is. We feel this feature represents a new paradigm as it allows people to extract more value out of forums in less time. I believe vBSEO customers will agree with us!

Note: The above screenshot is from a first iteration, the final implementation may look slightly different (colors, positioning, icons, etc.). Also, this feature is coupled with a full featured native "Likes" implementation for vBulletin forums that is coming from vBSEO.

Maximizing the impact of most liked content is another clever idea from vbseo.

That statement is spot-on, we will use this data to surface content for search engines as well.

Nice idea, is this tied in with the "facebook likes" or is that with another "like" mod?

Looks like it will be for a built in Likes function which, I personally, would rather see an FB likes function used for instead.

I'm more of the opinion that one likes button to rule them all better fits. The FB likes button gives the users the impression that this is good/important content along with the added benefit of sharing it with potential visitors on FB.

this is nice. xenforo has shown that the like button is a very desired feature on forums. would be great to have it on my vB board!

This is not tied to facebook. It is an internal like system. Oddly enough, not everyone uses facebook.....

Is this merely for vB v4.x or for 3.8.x as well?

i am sick of the facebook like button. it is a nightmare. facebook has now made it easy for website owners to send updates to people who liked their fan pages (and i suppose a single post on their site too... if not now they would do it eventually).

i had rather use the vbseo like button on my board.

It's still under construction. We are aiming both series though.

just a suggestion guys. offer sharing on social networks on liking a post/thread. instead of just adding the icons to all posts individually as it is currently available on vbseo.

i would assume that any user who wants to share a particular post would have liked it in the first place. so they go together.

The idea here is to get away from facebook. vB already offers a facebook like interconnect.

This is designed to highlight the good posts in a thread. It is not about sharing anywhere.

    sounds fine!

just make it ajax(y!)... no reloads required for liking a post in a thread.

Do you need thread voting switched on?
