Haha, yeah! It took me three long years before deciding it was time to buy a vBulletin licence and a VBSEO subscription. I've been working with Wordpress for years and I have to admit vBulletin always scared me. But thank to what I learned here I feel more confident and my first forum is finally up and running.
The strangest part happened when I purchased VBSEO. The system recognized my account and sent me an email saying my username was "pheal". I forgot I had ever registered on the VBSEO forums, so I thought you guys used an advanced technology to find one's favorite username
Long story short, I'm glad to have joined and I hope I'll be able to share my experience with you, and who knows, maybe I'll learn enough to help the newbies in the future.

Yeah, we have systems in place that match your purchasing email with existing users emails to prevent duplicate account creation in cases such as this one.
