howdy all

I am a newb webmaster / forum owner. So i am trying to get started and am looking to purchase vbseo as soon as I get the cash. Money is normally tight with me since I am a young father and cant seem to get my act together to finish up my post schooling. I am trying to get a forum of mine off the ground and would love to improve it and all of you seem to be very smart and willing to help people so all sugestions will be taken and put on my todo list of things that have to be done. My goal is to build a place where people can go to talk ohv, land rights, tech tips and so forth. I love to ride so i figured as my first project I should run a forum on a topic that I love. Check me out at Mototips.com - Include

Suprised to see someone else awake at this hour. Only reason I am is because I work the graveyard shift 11pm - 7am and am at work right now waiting to make my wakeup calls. Slow night.... I am looking forward to meeting everyone else in the community

Today i upgraded my board and vbadvanced cms. The problem is vbadvanced cms is no longer working. I posted in there forums but have not heard from support since before i went to sleep :(. Maybe one of you experts may be able to point out the problem for me. All that is going on is nothing from the cms system is showing up... Mototips - Powered by vBulletin << is my main page and everything should load there... My cms pages is Mototips - Powered by vBulletin and everything should load there but nothing is loading anywhere. I just dont know what to say or what to do...

I know this is not the place to go for support on this product but you all seem super helpful :-D

The CMPS URL field should be the full url to the page.

Also, this URL
Code:
http://www.mototips.com/index.php
points to your forum home page, not your CMPS page.

CMPS defaults to being:
Code:
http://www.mototips.com/cmps_index.php

But if you're running CMPS and your forums in the same directory, you would need to follow the directions here:
[CMPS] Q. My forums are in the root directory, how can i also use vBadvanced? - vBadvanced Forums

Ok followed your tips. And we are getting somewhere. I renamed the files and so forth. Now when you go to www.mototips.com we are loading a blank screen... VB say: If you change this value you must manually rename the forumhome PHP script to match the new value. Why dont I see a forumhome php script in my root? Or do i change this elseware?

In your vBulletin AdminCP there's a setting where you tell it the name of your main forums page script. It defaults to "index". If you renamed vBulletin's index.php to forums.php, then you need to change that AdminCP setting to "forums".

(The setting it pointed out in the link to vBadvanced above.)

Yep, that part seems to work now:

Mototips - Powered by vBulletin

Now you just need to get CMPS working. Try re-running the CMPS install file and choose the option to Re-Install templates only.

the path is $forumpath = '/var/www/vhosts/mototips.com/httpdocs/';
I wanted to change it so that it pointed to the forums.php but it said that was invalid. And i also read if it is all installed on the root that you can comment this line out which also gave me an invalid error :(
