Thought I'd better introdoose myself after spending a bit of time here and tell u a bit about how my site was born: It was around 2003 and I had just began to read a few Liverpool publications about the city of Liverpool [home of the beatles] and was amazed at what I read, Liverpool first and other notable facts etc. At the same time, I was growing more and more concerned and angry at the negative stereotypes that existed throughout my childhood, which had an impact on me in different ways. Put this together with my increasing desire to share these facts and achievements with more and more people, increasing their awareness of positive aspects of Liverpool life rather than the nastiness of the stereotypes that they had been led to believe. I had no outlet as I found out very quickly that people, despite living and working in Liverpool didn't want to know. What to do next? Increasing use of the net and in photography had led me to various sites, mostly those with Liverpool pictures on them (before the days of Flickr etc). It was later on, I decided what best way to catch people's eye than to create a forum for like minded individuals to Talk Liverpool. So; Scouseproud was born. Click here to view it, its still there! Issues began to arise with the forum due to it free and remotely hosted, it was slowing down at peak times and people couldn't access it. ![]() So after a while, I registered various website addresses (Scouseproud, Scouseology etc) and set to work setting one up myself. I opted for software that was free BUT allowed me to in complete control using my own server. After about a year we were 'hacked', everyone's posts had disappeared as did the forum structure, lots of hard work down the drain. I came away from it for a wile (about 3 weeks) and was encouraged by members (who I thought wouldn't be interested anymore, I couldn't blame them if they weren't. All their posts had gone) to set it up again. I wanted a fresh start and after visiting the Trafford Center [manchester UK]on several occasions, I couldn't understand the fascination with Yo! Sushi, why can't we do the same with 'Scouse'? I thought. I brought the idea home with me and registered the address Yo! Liverpool, I might give this forum thing one last go. I invested in VBulletin forum software, my intention was to create an established, secure forum community in time for 2007/ 2008. I had visions of people from all over the world searching the net for information about Liverpool. They might have found us by accident but what the hell, we might be able to share the past achievements and facts about Liverpool anyway, going some way to erase these negative stereotypes that they may have about Liverpool and its people. I wanted Yo! to be the place were, with help from its members, people would find this information. Since then we have become the cities biggest forum and continue to grow and develop. The next most recent step was to add the VBulletin SEOS plugin. So that's our journey so far. Thanks for listening ![]() Here's to the next sucessful few years with SEO!
