    Wink Hi, I'm Leah

After thinking about getting vBSEO for a few days (after all; $149 IS a lot of money) I decided to spend my Adsense earnings on a vBSEO license for one of my forums.

I must admit that reading the "it's a waste of money"-posts here and there on various forums made me think that I'd just made my most expensive mistake online ever. Not a good feeling.

Well. Since I'd already bought the license, I might as well install the "useless waste of money"-thing, I thought. And so I did, less than 24 hours ago.

And since a picture is worth a thousand words and this would be one heck of a coincidence if vBSEO had nothing to do with it, I'll just include this printscreen from my statistics and say...

    Thank you, vBSEO!

I must admit that I really don't know.
I thought maybe google analytics didn't record hits in the archive, but it seems like it does.

Yes. I'm having a hard time believing it, but I've never had that many hits from google. Maybe it's because of the sitemap-thing also? I haven't sent in a sitemap before, but vBSEO made it easy and understandable even for me.

that is pretty uncanny for 24 hours. It usually takes about a week to get things stirred up and a solid month before things settle down. It's not vbseo-- it's google.

since it's nearly double, i'm guessing you have 2 instances of the analytics code.

If you had it already in , say your footer template, did you remove it from there if you added it in the vbseocp option?

either way, ignore the haters. I outrank everyone who talks crap about it. And, it pad for itself in about 2 hours one day

I honestly will never start a vBulletin forum without vBSEO on it.

    Argh!
You're right, briansol. It was in my footer also.
Well. Thanks for straightening that out. I guess it's better with real stats than an unreal spike. All though that was fun to, until I found out what it was.

After posting here yesterday I realised that I hadn't seen any more guests than usual in the "What's going on"-box either.

I've searched for and removed all google analytics codes in the footer now. (Searched for my ID-number). I hope I didn't remove any of vBSEO's analytics code.

Thanks for the welcome, by the way.

I do have another, smaller, forum without vBSEO. I hope that the adsense earnings from the largest forum (with vBSEO installed) will make me able to buy vBSEO for that one too. I think it will have great potential for SEO.

Oh. And sorry if my english is a bit rusty. It's not my main language.

Update: Several hours after removing all double analytics codes, I still se a lot of extra search engine traffic. But the searches are very Christmas-related. I started a few threads about christmas already in september and have a seperate christmas subforum that has been active for the last 3 years (we count down to christmas every year from early fall), so I guess that also makes a difference.

This year I made an effort to have even more of that content and make some really useful content. Like a list of where to buy christmas gifts online. A "what to put in the childrens christmas calendar"-thread and so on. So that effort pays off now.

But I still see an increase from after installing vBSEO. Maybe there was something wrong with the analytics code in the archive?

I searched in the templates and everyone was gone. But I think maybe the code wasn't in the archive before. I did search for /archive/ in google hits and there were very few. Especially since I've seen people reading it "all the time" when checking online.php. And since I've earned most from the archive before.

So maybe the stats were actually better before and google just didn't register the ones in the archive?

Leah, I've noticed alot of the "this sux zOMG, vbSEO is a RipOFF" style of posts come primarily from people that fall into one or more of these catagories:

    1. Impatient
    2. Stupid / Immature
    3. Uberniche

I run a small forum that has a rather tight niche and vbSEO has helped me set consistant records every month in traffic. If it can work for me, it can work for anyone that is open minded and goal oriented.

I can't use Adsense so it hasn't really made me any money, but it's still worth the investment. I have two licenses and the other eventually will make me money.
