Thumbs up Hi from the Blue Room Forum.

    Hello from the UK

Dropped in to say hello while waiting for a response from Hostgator , I am on shared hosting there and asked for their advice on running vBSEO in a shared environment.

Will be back when I get a response.

    Thanks Joe,

The first link is about email issues and Hostgator have a strict and clearly stated policy about mass emails......

The second link I cannot view.

I have had a reply from one of the Supervising server admins there and
the answer is that vBSEO is allowed BUT once a forum becomes successful you are likely to run into issues as vBSEO adds to CPU load and if you use more than a fair share of the CPU they will suspend the vBSEO script.

Hostgator now move accounts to a different server while they discuss with you the best way forward for your site/forum.

I think the issue was the unexpected shutdowns, which are extremely detrimental.

It sounds like their new strategy will be more effective. I actually host a few sites with a hostgator account myself. They are all test sites and do not have high volume. I have never experienced any problems, but have noticed the sites respond extremely slow at times leading me to believe that I may be on an extremely overloaded machine.

I'll verify today by doing a reverse DNS lookup to see how many sites are located on the machine today, if I remember to do so.

I Googled vBulletin Hosting and there it was.

I did a Who Is Look up and it is registered to a name I have seen around the web so only time will tell. It will be interesting to see just what gets offered..........

Welcome aboard and i'm on hostgator shared hosting for now till i move to server late this year. Only problem i had with them was violating there email policy. Currently there policy is 500 emails per hour you can send out. (If go to server it's endless)

I believe there are some hacks on vbulletin.org to solve this issue anyways. Glad ya made the step in joining the VBSEO team.

Completed the purchase, sent in the ticket, went to get a cup of tea and when I got back to the PC there was a message saying the install had been done............... and there is vBSEO running .

    Thanks Oleg Ignatiuk ,
