Hello from yet another newbie

I recently shut down my phpbb forum. I'd had enough of the madness. I'm getting ready to start from scratch with vbulletin, which everyone says is in a whole different league. As such, I find myself here researching SEO for the new forum so that I can get everything accomplished at once, or as much as possible anyway.

VBSEO is an excellent tool to get you there but is far from a one size fits all. After installing VBSEO you need to make sure you use robots.txt to limit bots access to only content that will rank high. This means no showpost.php, not printthread.php and no archive. If the page isn't going to rank then it doesn't need to be indexed. That provides more link authority for other higher quality pages. Then once you get all your on page SEO done you need to work on building quality content and getting quality links to your pages.
