Hello folks Hi, I`m living on the dutch-german border (literally ;-)) and set up a little community for a high-tech kitchen aid about 5 years ago. I never took care of it but it still grew and so I had to switch it from phpBB to vBulletin some weeks ago. Stats: Topics: 13.477 Posts: 135.543 Users: 2.477, Active Users: 608 I´m very pleased about all the nice features vB offers and now I hope to increase traffic and registration by installing vbseo, All the best, Sacha

Re: Hello folks Hi, wow, I`m impressed! You`re already helping me and I didn`t even have to ask for it :-). Yes it`s true I haven`t activated VBSeo because the server is running another website which is mission critical for the next week. As I haven`t installed Zend or Ioncube yet, I wanted to wait till the critical project is over because I cannot afford any downtime due to maintenance atm. I did some research but `m still not sure which accelerator is the best here. The server OS is debian sarge whith a custom PHP5. After next week I`ll evaluate eaccelerator, ioncube, zend and APC. As I want to set up my community site with a mashup of TYPO3 and vBulletin, I also have to take TYPO3s requirements into account. Btw.: there are already some TYPO3-VB connectors available: TYPO3.org: Documentation: vBulletin connection (EXT: vBulletin connection) TYPO3.org: Repository I think TYPO3 and VB will be a good team! Have a nice sunday, Sacha Last edited by sinucello; 04-23-2006 at 06:51 PM.

Re: Hello folks If you're in a no-downtime situation, I recommend running the run-time Ioncube loaders. All you need to do is upload a directory to the server just like you would any other file. It parses at run time to that folder. no server mods required.

Ah well, I want to get rid of sarge anyway as we are setting up all future servers with Ubuntu. Sarge was already outdated when it was released and you loose the security and stability benefit by installing backports. So Ubuntu is the way to go for us and after thinking about it I`ll first switch the server to Ubuntu and PHP5 (which is default in Ubuntu main), do some optimizing like using cronolog for logfiles, then take care of the php-accelerator and then finally install VBSeo. Ciao, Sacha |

Re: Hello folks Hi, I finally dared to install vBSEO and it seems to work fine with the standard rewrite rules, Ioncube and along with TYPO3: wunderkessel.de - die Thermomix®-Community Now I`m very anxious to see how my Google Analytics stats will evolve. Ciao, Sacha
