    Desperate with 1300 Domain Names

    Hi Everybody,

I Started out a year ago thinking if I registered a lot of keyword domain names that I'd come out ahead. I put up 18K thru about 4 months and have only sold about a dozen domain names so far.

They all have been parked at SEDO and in July I decided to start developing adsense related sites. At this time I've got 80 sites up creating nothing to $10 per day. Almost enough to pay the interest on the origional 18K.

Most of the names I've got aren't worth much as late night domaning didn't really work our well. Since then though I've got much better names when I started checking multiple sources for thier traffic value rather than trusting just one. Now I don't trust any of them fully.

I understand SEO pretty good and have a dozen or so sites on google's front page. Since a large block of my sites are in an related field I'm thinking of starting a forum with a small group of people willing to help themselfs in the forum's success.

I'm here are VBSEO as I'm considering VBulletin as the BBS. I've seen what my SEO work does but there needs to be back link work as well as good site metrics for visitor's behaviour to maintain the placement in Google. I've had sites be in position 2 for 2 months then suddenly wind down to page 18. A good example of that one is my policecodes.org site. I'm trying to get it back up the list now.

Well, that's a snapshot of where I am other than I have triplet 2year old girls and one of them little Amanda has a condition called Radial Club Hand so she only has 1 bone in her forarm and is missing a thumb. I'm starting RadialClubHand.org as a place for others like her to know they are not alone and for the parents to decide what medical proceedures would be best.

Wow... That' my story .... I got a little carried away.

vBulletin + vBSEO is your best combination if you want to start a serious forum.

As for your 1000+ domains, I would probably setup a custom script to pull related RSS feeds onto *all* of the domains, with a template designed to look less spammy that what most are doing out there, and then optimize AdSense right on the pages. You might even consider hooking up every one of them into a master forum where anyone who wants to launch a discussion on the RSS feeds can do so there. This would require only 1 forum license, since you would simply be directing the traffic from the self-parked domains back to your multi-topic forum.

I would make everyone of them to look like a news site, with a CNN like homepage, with the RSS snippet provided when the link is clicked, within a page on your site before linking out to the 3rd party provider.

Then you could try selling the whole package to a bigger investor if you are able to get your search traffic levels up significantly. We know it's worth at least 18,000k. But if you boost your revenue stream, and build a reliable traffic source, you will definitely find a buyer for the whole network.

FYI - I would probably hire someone to create social networking site accounts for each of the domains, and get focused links back to the master forum from each of them, hire paid posters to seed your master forum with discussions of the news feeds in each category, and even some paid posts create original content that can be posted on each site by simply summarizing current news stories that get picked up in the feeds you choose. This original content would give the sites some credibility with the search engines. Over 1300 sites delivering a small amount of traffic can really add up quickly. Note: I would probably also purchase multiple VPS hosting accounts, rather than trying to run all of those sites on one box.
